I totally understand why he signed that contract. At the time, he was the six highest paid player in the league, with that deal. He was locking in money incase of injury. Nobody really knew that salary and revenue was going to blow up like it did. But he or anyone else can blame management. Reinsdorf is straight forward. You signed a contract, don't come back asking for more money. Everyone knew that was his thing.

I’d be lying if I didn’t find the memes to be funny, but on a serious note, there’s immense pressure on that child who’s gifted, smart, athletic, etc to help the family out when they make it. The guilt trips are real, whether it’s subtle or blatant. Everyone of us who came from poverty and are prospering in a career are pressured to look out for everyone. Not just the least fortunate.
