I absolutely love Outlander! I loved Season 5! The writing this season was more in tuned to the book and refocused on Jamie m’s and Claire’s relationship. In many ways it parallels Season 1 of how their relationship started; the focus on family coming together especially in a crisis; and both and the cruelty of what happened to Jaime at the hands of Black Jack Randall and Claire at the hands of Lionel Brown. Rewatch Season 1 then are watch Season 5. There are a lot of similarities. I can’t wait for Season 6! But I will console myself by rewatching Season 1 to Season 5 pacing it so that by the time Season 6 rolls around I’m ready for it!

Loved the whole season, always happy when they use book dialog. Final scene was the best ending of a season since maybe, 1. I get what you mean about book Fergus but I think Fergus ‘ disability and his depression is realistic. I don’t think they are going there.

When this season began at first it seemed to lack some of the spark but when Sam and Cait became more involved the quality and emotional depth of the series returned. The remaining episodes showed true depth in every one of the characters. The writing of the episodes by DG were exceptional. you could see the superior comparisons with the screen play and the books. This was a job well done and the professionalism and growth in all talented cast was a joy to watch.

I gave it a B only because there arent enough episodes for a whole season and for 2 huge books or a a book and a half. It just isnt enough. Even though its wonderfully acted and mostly well written, there alot left out. I like it when Diana Gaboldon writes the screenplay but with the Revolution coming up and the other romances coming up and Bri and Roger changes you just have to know we must have more
