I love every single episode in all the seasons, but I was disappointed with the final. (I love dearly Raymond Reddington)

Hated it - a complete waste of an excellent program. Also afraid that your ending may lose you loyal viewers. Elizabeth has always been a see-saw character, all over the place, with uncertain loyalties apparently unkown even to herself. This sudden, all embracing acceptance of Katarina no matter what makes no sense whatsoever, especially as she knows how uncompassionate and cold the woman is. The character is lost to the realms of "lets shake it up" - most people probably care more about Red and Dembe anyway. Blacklist could survive without Liz, but not without those two.

I thought the animation made things disjointed, but I appreciate all of the effort to finish the episode and look forward to a normal season 8

I feel exactly the same as Yaeli. As much as I appreciate your efforts and creativity to bring us this last episode, please never do it again. It was unnerving to watch. It left me feeling confused and the story seemed broken and disjointed. The episode lost so much in non-verbal communication that we have grown to appreciate between the characters. James Spader’s character didn’t look like him or posses his mannerisms at all. It felt like you took one of my favorite action-dramas and mocked it. I was so sad by the end and I will be even more sad if you continue in this format. I just can’t keep watching the show in animated form. Thanks again though for your creativity and effort to bring the show out during the pandemic.

Thank you so much for the effort to deliver the episode in such challenging times. But i think the animation took too much away from the episode. The loss of subtle body language and the constant switching made it hard to stay in the moment of scene. I guess it also brought to light just how good the actors non verbal communication is in a scene and essential it is in communicating the feeling of a scene.
That was really missing this episode but - under the circumstances its understandable and was a very creative way to try plug the gap. If we have choice though... i'd say never do the animation again.
But again, thank you for the effort & creativity.

It’s tough with the pandemic and thank you for finishing it. But animation was too distracting for me if it was to be the permanent way forward sadly animated is just less “human”

Wow ..Amazing ..extra ordinary and a loss of words .....thank u blacklist crew u were amazing and full of courage .keep it up and I can't wait for all of u to be back in the saddle . ..God bless and take care

When this is over please redo the episode correctly please. I’m to much of a fan to suffer through an episode like this.

  • Kevin - 4 years ago

If this is what it took to make it happen I guess but never want to see an episode in this form again. I would have rather waited.

Considering the pandemic, I thought the finale was brilliantly done and a most creative means not to leave things in limbo. That being said, it would be a tremendous mistake to take the focus off Red, because everyone loves him, even after Mr. Kaplan, because of the acting genius of James Spader, truly one of the great actors of this century. Sorry, but Liz is incidental to Red, nobody really cares enough to be invested in Liz. Liz without Red--that's the death of the show.

  • Larry Pletcher - 4 years ago

It was good to set up season finale. I was hoping to discover Katarina to not be her mother and for Red to be her father. It looked at the end as if Liz was jumping off the building.

  • Naor Azran - 4 years ago

I think they should wait untill they could finish the epispde .
But also i appreciate that they “let” us continue watching this episode instead waiting for.. i dont know how long.

  • Rosie - 4 years ago

If it’s not broke, don’t fix it.

  • Tony Royse - 4 years ago

    Simply put - it sucked.

    Tony.

Love the show but the episode was garbage!!
Should of waited until you could film again.
Was totally shocked that they felt the need for wonky animation to complete the season..

Thank you so much to the blacklist crew for making the last episode happen especially during this most trying time. The animation as others may have put it was not top notch and I myself is a perfectionist but the blacklist team did a f-ing great job.

Some people would say they would have waited and not have animation involved. I say hats off to the team because it shows their dedication to the fans, so fek who thinks this episode was poorly done. We are in a pandemic people! we also get the see a real side of the actors and the people behind the series. Can’t wait for next season. Be safe stay home !!

Dam! Enough with the negative comments. We're going through a pandemic that the world is still trying to adjust to. Would I have rather seen it normally done. Yes, of course I would. However, to do what they did, Everyone that works for the blacklist. From the actors to production, to the animators. In sucha short period of time I think was amazing. Being trapped at home I rather get the finale they gave us than nothing at all. I was impressed and happy that the finale got finished under the circumstances. I want to give a big thank you to everyone that worked on the finale. Can't wait for the next season.

I personally would have rather waited for the REAL ending. It made it confusing and hard to process what was happening . The dialogue was terrible, especially Liz. Honestly, i felt like we should have gotten SOME answers. Maybe not who Red really is, but at least why he’s sick. Instead of making me feel excited for season 8, I feel annoyed and not wanting yo watch in hopes you may reveal something. I understand it was cut short due to COVID-19, however, in my opinion, we should have gotten something in a finale. Liz says she chosen sides, but Ive never enjoyes the episodes where Liz and Red are at odds. Maybe give us SOMETHING in the first episode to pull us viewers back in because I personally wouldn’t put it as a front runner to watch. I know DVR doesn’t hurt ratings too much with Neilson boxes, but as it is now, with giving us something, Ill DVR it, but only watch it when there is nothing left to watch. This wasone of my favorite shows, however, we need some secrets to come to light so we can have something to be intrigued by again, instead if just getting frustrated with no answers.

I love that they tried, but it was quite disappointing with the animation.

I love the show, my favorite current show, and I genuinely care about the characters and the real people who play them, so, it is what it is. Looking forward to season 8 and the end of this damned virus and subsequent lockdown

    Ingenious!

  • Stacey Stolarski - 4 years ago

HORRIBLE- beyond AWFUL!!! To try to watch this and take it seriously, is difficult at best. The animation was TERRIBLE and looked like something my elementary school aged child could do. Plus the “background” music was so loud and overpowering to the dialogue I couldn’t hear or understand the animated scenes. This should have waited until filming could resume.

  • Bayo Adeniyi - 4 years ago

I was heartbroken to know Lizzy's grandfather, Brian Dennehy has passed. Good job by the Blacklist crew . The
season finale has to come in air

  • Bayo Adeniyi - 4 years ago

I have no issues with the blend but the animation was horrible.

  • Hope - 4 years ago

Didn't care for the hybrid finale at all. I found it to be disjointed and very distracting. As a result, I'm confused about the storyline, and am left feeling frustrated.

  • Val Williams - 4 years ago

I think you have done a really good job with this finale episode, I can't wait for the next series to start but I suppose unfortunately it will be quite some time before you start the filming of series 8, Raymond Reddington played by James Spader is one brilliant actor as are all the others in the program. God bless everyone involved in the making of Blacklist.

  • Nancy Franklin - 4 years ago

First, thank you for doing this. I watched the last episode of another show last week, that was done via zoom, and obviously could reference Covid 19 becuase of their story plot. Other shows has no finale...we just wait until they are able to begin again. Your creativity, and dedication to your audience is truly appreciated. The animation, fading in and out, was done in an amazing artistic fashion. Would we all prefer the ral actors, of course, but what an ingenious and truly satisfying alternative. The show was able to close and have the traditional cliffhanger. The animator so were brilliant. Thank you for caring, for all of the actors, creators, crew, and newly found animator so for brining in us a wonderful season finale. It is most appreciated. Be safe, stay well, and we look forward to your return!

  • Carl and Rose - 4 years ago

Combination of style understood ,but would have preferred waiting to see all live . . They are all so amazingly talented. J S especially! Love Dembe story-line. As tremendous fans in this house , we would have waited. . The final , for us was so distracting ,it left us disappointed , but we can’t wait for more . No more animation , please.

  • Vicki - 4 years ago

The animation was a great way to ensure completion of the episode, but of course it can’t be anywhere near as good as seeing the real actors. All the.minor changes in facial expression cannot be translated into an animation. It might have been preferable to postpone completing the episode until isolation restrictions are over. I was impressed with the animation of Dembe. They did a great job with his face! This is my favourite show. All the actors are great. Really looking forward to next season, tho not sure I like the direction it’s going judging by the end of this episode. I want to give Elizabeth a shake. She can’t ally herself with her awful mother!!!

  • Sandra Porter - 4 years ago

Absolutely horrible. Distracting. Hard to follow if you actually watched. Should have left it till it could be finished properly.

  • September - 4 years ago

The animation was terrible. I work in the animation industry, in Toronto Canada, and I realize this was probably done in a hurry, but it looks more like " pre- vis" which would be for production and never meant to be seen by the public. I hope the quarantine is lifted in the not too distant future so we can see this show with the proper, beautifully skilled acting I watch this show for.

I thought the blend of live action and animation was pretty solid ... the first bit was a bit distracting but by half way through.. It worked for me. The one thing that bothers me though is the lack lustre and problematic audio mix. Reading that the cast recorded dialog into their phones???? Like really? Its not like the network and it's audio department isn't big enough or experienced enough to lead the cast through doing their dialogue into a computer program even as rudimentary as Garage band. At one point Kessler (Diago) dialogue in the scene at the ex wife's house was absolutely atrocious !!!

Besides a poor overall mix and sub standard dialogue and ADR work.... I actualy really loved the entire concept.... And the storyline will keep me coming back for next season!

  • Dembe - 4 years ago

Ok under the circumstances. But did no one listen to the part with Ballroom blitz? No way could the dialogue be heard. That whole section and Paint It Black was just painful.

  • Rod - 4 years ago

In these trying circumstance, it was a valiant effort, however, a fail by me. As Beatriz said nothing can take place of the real life characters along with their expressions and Spader's humor which cannot be translated into animation. This episode could have been left until next year. True fans would understand. The old batman style comic strip even using captions took away from the thrill of the show. I was confused as to what was really happening. Was it supposed to be laughable or serious. Hopefully the next season Liz will flip back to be with Red as that was the basis of the show. Betraying his character a second time is not good for me as avid watcher. Keep it thrilling and about task force, the blacklist Reddington and Dembe. As the old adage goes if it is not broke, don't fix it.

Excellent blend of animation and real live production! Under the circumstances, this was an amazingly creative way of creating/presenting the storyline. However, I do prefer the real live episodes. The superb acting of all the characters with their mannerisms and facial expressions can NEVER be ‘translated’ through animation, no matter how amazing it may have been. Maybe I am just so used to the live shows. I love this show and appreciate that this last season the violent scenes were toned down a bit!! Thank you.

    HORRIBLE

  • Emily - 4 years ago

Was definitely a change, but glad we got the episode. They did a great job with the animation, but prefer the normal episode. James Spader can say more with a look than with a page of dialogue. The Blacklist is the best show on TV. Superb cast and acting all around.

  • Liz - 4 years ago

    Get rid of the animation...horrible????

  • Susan Lewis - 4 years ago

I am tired of the show being focused on Liz and her mother. If this continues I will stop watching.
