???? This coronavirus is the strangest virus I've ever heard of. It's very dangerous the way it spreads. It is so mysterious the way it lurks in schools, but then dies at Home Depot. It can wreak havoc in churches; praying people are exceptionally vulnerable! Although it’s Mind-boggling how it vanishes when people stand close together holding signs, destroying businesses, homes, property, monuments, etc. Yet, standing to watch a marathon or a concert triggers its wrath. It is sneaky. It can spread when buying clothes at Kohl's but not at Target. It is non-alcoholic. It can't spread when you are buying beer. It lives for two days on Amazon boxes, you must wait 48 hours to touch them but It can't survive on Dunkin Donuts coffee cups, so enjoying a hot cup of joe is safe. It is the most curious thing, how it lives on basketballs, baseball bats and ballet bars, but dies on WWE ropes and Walmart shopping carts. It is spread by hair stylists, dog groomers, and dentists, but not by bank tellers, cashiers, and fast food workers. It's so smart. It won’t bother the first 10 people but it knows when the 11th person shows up so be careful if that’s you. It even knows what you want vs what you need. If you want a massage or your nails done it is very actively on the prowl and not even a mask can stop it but If you need a plumber, it is weak, and a mask will keep it away. It also seems to be most dangerous after 5:30pm so businesses must start to close before the virus comes out and wreaks havoc upon the populations. Whoever heard of such a smart sneaky virus?!?

I suppose Mexican lives are unimportant or ar least not as important as experimenting with herd immunity. Boris Johnson tried the same in the UK and we all saw the catastrophic results there

AMLO is counting on herd immunity. And leaving health discretion up to state governments. What's the issue?

I was supposed to travel to Cancun on April 29 with a view to retiring there. This goddamn epidemic changed all that and I made arrangements for July 1st. Seeing how the government of AMLO ( a man I once admired greatly) is handling the situation, I changed my reservation for November 1st. Even so ,and with Covid-19 raging in Mwxico ,I don't know if that will be feasible either . It is actually the last chance I'm giving Mexico . When I think of the results from.my native Greece ,I shudder at the thought of Mexico . Mexico has 1 case per 906 population and 1 death per 7672 people. Greece has 1 case over 3364 population and 1 death per 57213. More incredible is the fact that only for June Mwxico has 51,684 cases as opposed to Greece's 195 and even worse Mwxico has recorded 6,669 deaths compared to Greece's 8 !!! Inept government and undisciplined people are ,in my opinion ,the two key factors for such chaotic differences.

Was in Ajijic for 2 weeks in January. Work has slowed down, events cancelled. Rent raised, taxes due, but I'm hopeful.

I spent a month in Mexico last year from middle of November to middle of December. It was one of the best months of my life. I love Mexico and felt safe and respected as I travelled alone through the Yucatán. I would love to explore other parts of Mexico and pray I can do this again this year from Nov to December. I am in Canada and things are peaceful here but Mexico is my home away from home. Hoping to help out with the food bank in Vallarta while there!

We own homes in Mexico and in the US. Have been stuck in the US but are headed back to Mexico in 10 days. Absolutely cannot wait. Neither place is "more open" than the other but I'll take Mexican air, food and culture over what we have here in DC all day long.

Hoping for a short trip Oct/Nov to check on workers, village and house. Our town is still closed, Homeowner"s raising funds for needs of population. We love our pueblo and our friends of Costa Brava, Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa.
My sister in law 51 yrs. got sick in Mexicali and died 12 days later of COVID 19. She had no known health issues but the Hospital MSS 30 had no oxygen, respirators or medications. So sad because they cremated her so we could not have a funeral. A nurse said that they were overwhelmed with cases and many staff are dead already but nobody will help. Its a major epidemic in Mexicali and only 2 small clinics and 1 state facility for a city of 1 million....

I love Mexico and I’m looking forward to visit Mexico in 2021. I’m really hopeful that everything will be “better” around that time. I can’t wait !

I hope to return in January of 2021. The reports are a bit daunting now, but there is time to solve some problems. Probably no vaccine by then but maybe treatment? I am hoping for the best. I do love Mexico.

I have fallen in love with México for the last 25 years. I try to go 2-3 times a year, if not more. A virus is not going to get the best of me. Come hell or high water, if I can travel in mid-Aug. as I usually do, I am gone. Unless the restrictions at that time prevent me from doing so. Nothing will stand in the way of seeing my long standing friends!

When I look on the Johns Hopkins site I’m not impressed by the testing and incidents numbers coming from Mexico. I also know and have read about the state of medical services in Mexico so I’m not surprised by J H test and incidents numbers. Seems to fluid a situation to make any travel plans for 2020, even though areas are opening up to tourists. Given travel lockdowns-quarantine requirements around the world can’t see that many international visitors will be vacationing anytime soon.

We are looking forward to our trip to Mexico this year. We live in the US and our area has flattened the curve. We have done our research and feel safe with the safety measures that have been put in place for us. Along with our own safety measures we are basing our own personal decisions on facts and research and not fear and opinions.

I have a job in CDMX starting in mid-August 2020, but plan to arrive a month early to begin Spanish lessons. I am pleased to see the virus situation is improving in CDMX, but in any event would rather be there than face the 'culture wars' in the US.

Pushed out our vacation in Playa until Aug 2021. This year is a complete wash out- can’t plan/chance anything.
For what is coming next. If you’re even curious, just tap the the blue words.

I have dual citizenship and a home here. Once it is safe to travel back to the US I will return then. I have workers who needed their jobs and my home is isolated by the oceanfront. So I stayed hopeful that it would be over or controlled in a few months. As a former nurse I soon realize the gravity and now realize it will be still possibly months before I can leave. My husband has not been allowed to return because of age and restrictions back at our home in the US. I had my European vacation in April cancelled due to the outbreak in several of the countries I was visiting. I will err on the side of caution and wait to rebook vacation plans. Now with restrictions lifted and construction workers returning from hotspots of infection I am very worried about our virus free community.
