Had been looking forward to this new HBO series. Even called my folks before it came on. They knew about it and were excited to watch but my dad said he read horrible reviews but was going to give it a try.
Wow, was I disappointed. The new Perry Mason SUCKS. When I called my dad today he said he and my mother could only stand to watch 20 minutes of it before turning it off. I watched but kept losing attention. I actually watched 3 or 4 times. It is horrible, not understaandable. My folks didn't like the actor. I didn't hate him. Wasn't his fault he got mixed up with such a loser script. Could have been such a wonderful noir detective show.... HBO FAIL.

Dreadful. Gratuitous violence, pointless heterosexual humping, cunnilingus with food, nude fat male sprinter, torture, bent cop killing three thug accomplices, mutilated infant corpse, near constant boozing, and about five minutes worth of exposition. Dark, cynical, unconvincing. Chapter 1 is more than enough for me.

Was way TOO slowly paced from scene to scene. It actually got boring.
