What are your thoughts on President Trump trying to exclude non-citizens from the upcoming House reapportionment?
These people aren't U.S. citizens, so they shouldn't count when we're figuring out how many Representatives each state gets. It's that simple.
It doesn't matter if people are citizens or not — we all live in America, and they deserve to be counted, even if they can't vote.
Whether I agree with this plan or not, the Constitution is clear on the matter — every person is counted, citizen or no. To do otherwise is, well, unconstitutional.
Given that the citizenship question wasn't on the U.S. census, and assuming that this idea is even legal, I just can't see how this plan works logistically. The president should focus on other matters.
