well, cant build a green line in Calgary without the world being against it. cant imagine a line between Calgary and Edmonton. 2030 AD in service more like 2130 and overbudget as usual for everyone who want a piece of the pie. to bad people are against an advance society. Welcome to the 16 century Kanada.

Can not believe this poll. Nobody will use this for sure. It is easy, convenient and cheaper to drive. Waste of money.

Having a massive vacuum tunnel for major transportation seems incredibly dangerous in the case of a failure, especially given the proposed travel speeds within the tunnel. Any compromise of the vacuum along the tunnel would be catastrophic. This isn't even considering a structural compromise of the pod. At least an airplane flying at 0.2 atm can respond to a decompression by flying at a lower altitude. The decompression of a pod at the proposed 9 x 10^-4 atm could likely lead to the death of most or all occupants unless there are some miraculous fail-safes in place. Regardless of whether this technology is possible, the risk seems too great economically, and more importantly too great of a risk to human life.

While this is an interesting idea, what is really needed is LRT, or a similar system, that links outlying communities, such as Airdrie, Strathmore, High River, etc., to Calgary. The Hyperloop would be fine for those areas listed in the article, but does not address the current lack of public transportation that exists for outlying communities around Calgary. For example, Airdrie, now has a population of over 70,000, and one bus, that travels to and from Calgary.

Hopefully it’s a pet friendly thing. There are no options to travel with your pet other than flying. Not even one bus accepts animals and no rental car does it either, kinda annoying.
