I think it would fun to talk about some of the religious elements in the book: The Prodigal Son, vampires described as angels, the whole "lion and the lamb" illusion, Carlisle as a god figure essentially resurrecting people, the use of fire (hell) in the transformation process and in Edward's desire for Bella, etc., etc. There are some scholarly essays that do a deep dive into religious themes in the novels, too. Like "Touched by a vampire : discovering the hidden messages in the Twilight saga," by Beth Felker Jones and another book that looked at Christian themes in Twilight and Harry Potter. I can't seem to find the title, though. Thanks!
