National Girls Performer Of The Week (9/7-9/13) (Poll Closed)
Jenna Hutchins, Science Hill (TN): She opened her season with a personal best of 16:25 at the Chickasaw Invitational. Hutchins won this race by almost two minutes. This is the second fastest 5K for the 2020 season and sixth on the All-Time list.
Bethany Michalak, Air Academy (CO): Michalak is one of the freshman to keep your eyes out for this cross country season. The young talent improved on her personal best to 17:27 at the Cheyenne Mountain Stampede. She continued her undefeated season to three wins since the mid-August.
Sydney Thorvaldson, Rawlins (WY): Thorvaldson ran her second sub 17 minute for 5K this weekend. She set a personal best of 16:19 at the Heritage Distance Classic. She currently has the fastest time this 2020 season and ran the third fastest time on the All-Time list.
Sophie Atkinson, Katy Cinco Ranch (TX): The University of Virginia commit set a personal best this weekend by breaking the 17 minute barrier for 5K at the 2020 Brenham Hillacious Invitational. She's the fourth runner under 17 minutes as she ran an official time of 16:59
Riley Stewart, Cherry Creek (CO): Stewart has competed in three meets this season and each race was under 17:50 for 5K. She competed at the Heritage Distance Classic and was second to Thorvaldson with a final time of 17:06, which is the fastest time she ran so far this 2020 cross country season. Stewart consistently has been lowering her time for 5K each week.
