What should be the next DOT Secretary's No. 1 trucking-related priority for 2021?

We need intelligently placed parking on all highways not just interstate highways, we need enough money spent on highway infrastructure and none of our money spent on wasteful items not directly connected to the highways (sound walls, designer rest areas, overpriced weigh stations) and stop spraying the “brim” days ahead of the possible weather event, especially when they predict rain before the snow/ice/sleet as that’s just my money down the drain, literally

I’d like to know how much Experience Pete has and if he really knows what the problems are in the trucking industry. Listening to drivers talk about issues is OK. But being in the trucking business gives you a lot more insight as to what really needs to be addressed. The experience of reality will be his teacher in finding what what needs to be fixed and what needs to be prioritized

Probably the parking issue should be the #1 thing to do 1st. But, surely they can walk and chew gum at the same time. I'd say the detention problem should be at the top also. Yes, it is part of the transportation problem. The DOT has said, according to their own studies, that the longer drivers sit at a dock, the more likely safety goes down.
