Michael was absolutely outstanding. Could feel all of his emotions.
I did not want Adam to die as I thought the complexity of the two families engaging through Adam and Sophia would have been very intriguing.

  • Donna - 5 years ago

The movie was fantastic! Michael was fantastic. Yes he was a lot like Walter and breaking bad but this was the character that was created for this movie and he did an excellent job. I think the ending was horrible and not good that it was over. I think it needs another season a few more episodes something. Please bring some more episodes back so that we can have a little closure with this series!

  • Rick Whatley - 5 years ago

Watch this show if you really want to feel like crap for a long time. The ending sucks and is bleak for bleak’s sake! Suicidal people should avoid at all costs.

  • Dave Camp - 5 years ago

I dont like all the loose ends after the ending. What happens to Michael, the bad cop, Jimmy, Gina and Carlo. The trial was fixed...like most they say, leave it your imagination. POOR ending.

Was Eugene sent by Baxter to shoot Adam ? He did tell Michael to come and witness - I don’t think he missed at all......

  • Jose - 5 years ago

The ending in episode 10 was bad! It look like the series ended when money ran out! Cut! It's wrap! (budget) There should have been an 11 or 12 episodes. What becomes of the judge? Does the truth finally comes out in public? The mobster involvement?? Too many unanswered questions.

  • Jean Mccarthy - 5 years ago

Adam could not act...just looked stupid throughout whole series. Cranston was superb. Too much pontificating from the stereotyped black politician. Irony of ending was that Adam died gushing blood just as his victim did. Fiona was rather manly. Her father was stereotyped crime boss. Love relationship between Michael and black attorney was not believable. I was mesmerized by the series.

  • Dave - 5 years ago

Kept my attention, but had a TERRIBLE ending! I was hoping that between the lady detective and lawyers, all the bad guys (just about everyone else) would end up paying a price. But noooooo! Made me feel like I wasted 10 hours. Aside from the bad ending, Michael's character was way too much like Walter White in Breaking Bad. Whenever he made up stories on the fly and manipulated people. And when he tried to control Adam and get him to see things his way it was exactly the same relationship Walter White had with Jesse. But, not a single character who deserved to be caught and punished, was caught and punished. TERRIBLE! Adam was killed, but he didn't deserve that . . . he just deserved some jail time. TERRIBLE, ENDING!

  • Clare - 5 years ago

Gutted! How could the show close with the Baxter’s getting away with so much. The show was amazing until the finale ????☹️

  • Paul.L - 5 years ago

Please no more. It was grim watching. It was a fitting end though. Has anyone noticed that Bryan Cranston runs like Buster Keaton? Hilarious.

  • Dennis - 5 years ago

Really rushed, stupid ending. And shot in the neck. So contrived.

  • Joan S. - 5 years ago

Please we need more ... we need a second season, because it can’t stop here. It is so well written and executed. There has to be a second season.

  • Wayne Morgan - 5 years ago

I want Michael to go on a rampage killing the whole mob family

  • Sarah B - 5 years ago

I loved it-especially the fact that it was set in NOLA. All the characters were intertwined with one story line feeding off of another. I would love another season to see where things go from here. I think one could write a lot centered around the Baxter crime family. Kudos!

  • Mary ann - 5 years ago

There is so much to continue on such as Michael's future when the shooter is arrested and tells his story, does the father leave Michael alone, what happens with the intended victem as he doesn't look as though he will change, is his mother ever held accountable etc. It's a good story but ended making you feel like it was a waste of time to warch it if that is all.

  • Esme St. CLAIR - 5 years ago

    Sucked.

  • Dolores - 5 years ago

I think that there will be a season 2 because there is too much that was left open for another season. All the crimes that the baxters committed, all the crimes that the judge committed trying to cover up the accident that Adam had,who was Adams mother having an affair with?Maybe Mr Baxter? The Mayoral candidate Judge micheal's friend he hooked the scheme up involving the stolen vehicle? The cop that is hooked up with the gang and was involved with the stolen vehicle from the begginning, the house baxter had blown up with whole Kofi family in it,now kofi little brother shot Adam?Did Adam really die or did medical arrive and save his life? And what about the two women the cop and the lawyer that micheal was using, will they stay silent?I think Judge Micheal set up the female judge( his friend) to get stopped and arrested for DWI so that he can take over case?etc. It cant just end this way!I understand judge Micheal for doing all the stuff he did for his kid.Brian Cranston put on a great show and i want to see more!

  • Stephanie - 5 years ago

    Shocking and tragic ending!
I was just grateful the dog wasn’t killed!

  • SHAWN WALDROP - 5 years ago

I wish everyone would stop speculating on a so-called “season 2”. Showtime and Executive Producer Cranston himself said months ago this a 10 episode miniseries. Nothing more.

Am I the only one here that watched Breaking Bad? A show, which looking back, every single character was highly unlikeable. This show mirrored BB in so many ways, it was a forgone conclusion it was not going to end well.

The running theme of “at what lengths would you go to protect your family?” was done in The Sopranos, Weeds, and most infamously Breaking Bad. Throw Ozark into the mix, and it’s a eerily similar storyline.

Cranston learned from a master storyteller in Vince Gilligan. I wouldn’t have been surprised if his name popped up in the credits, but his fingerprints are all over this show.

The one thing I never saw was how/why the Baxter family was so feared. He was supposed to be this big crime boss - yet save for a couple of veiled threats, we never see him exercising his full power. It’s just assumed from the first episode. Instead, he comes off as doing a smug, poor man’s version of a De Nero impression, facial expressions and all. Little man complex.

But then again, they only had 10 episodes to play with.

  • Jon H - 5 years ago

Its a movie folks. None of the courtroom drama would have possibly occurred as it appears. Judge Michael was a pathetic father and a forgetful experienced lawyer for not dealing with the negligent homicide when it occurred. Many deaths and much emotional drama would be avoided, but.......as I said: "its a movie". Don't label this a reflection of our society. It is an abhorrent and obtuse fiction. Reality is when a corrupt media and Hollywood mob spread lies about successful, honest and well intended people.

  • KT - 5 years ago

How I wish we could debate some of the comments . The criminality of Adam leaving the scene of a tragic car accident which left a boy dead. The criminality of the Judge trying to protect his son. The criminality of the cops on the take. The blackmailer trying to get money out of Michael.
This show is a representation of our society and how people think the laws do not apply to them. How our government is corrupt. Our police and the courts are easily swayed to look at situations that are not factual and can twist things to their liking.
Which reminds me of a quote....

“Show me the man, and I'll show you the crime.” - Lavrentiy Beria

This series was good but alot of story lines that led to nowhere really... it seems it was trying to fit way too much into 10 episodes therefore , leaving me to feel frustrated and a bit angry with the characters, story line and ending as a whole. The series riddled with symbolism. That should be its tagline! Lol

  • KT - 5 years ago

    Where oh where to begin....

The series was good. However, there are so many signs which gave you the impression Adam was going to die. I believe it is called foreshadowing in the literary world.
No good could have come from the events throughout the show. In fact, the lies Michael told excelerated the unraveling of all of the lives effected. And there were many! Including, had Adam lived, how would he have been able to live with himself knowing his bad choice had a ripple effect on so many people. Would Michael? Assuming he was able to, his reputation was so far buried in corruption, he wouldn't have been able to dig his way out with a front hoe digger (industrial size)!!!

Moral of the story, own your s#!t and be accountable. Had Adam stayed and waited for the police and EMS to arrive, things may have ended up differently. But, we will never know.

  • Mary ORourke - 5 years ago

So, the Baxters get away with everything, including mistakenly killing Eugene's family. Carlo is found innocent and is free to go on to the next crime Adam is dead for an accident The Judge is destroyed and will probably not be able to function. What was the purpose of the affair? Didn't Michael tell Grandma to tell Adam about the affair and is then angry when she does so? Maybe Eugene should have blown them all away

  • Joan - 5 years ago

Excellent show.....the twist at the end heartwenching....but true Karma...........there are always unfinished or unanswered questions........that's life.....no season 2..... wouldn't work

  • Jeanne M Horton - 5 years ago

I thought the show was great. But everyone thinks Jimmy Baxter was the evil one. He lost his child in a horrible way. I had sympathy for his family also. Michael was just as bad as Jimmy in his own way. It was sad that Adam had to die, but it was karma.

  • Diane - 5 years ago

This was a very good series with an ending I didn’t expect. If there is a season 2 I’d watch only if it moved similar to the HBO The Wire (Isiah Whitlock Jr). Meaning maintaining the base characters add new ones with a twist. If you want to answer some questions that fans want slip the explanation in season 2.

  • Renee - 5 years ago

Excellent ending, but too many unanswered questions. Such as what was the significance of the affair that Michael's wife had in the story?
The future mayor still has a promise to keep in cleaning up the force.
Eugene still doesn't know who really killed Rocco and he will be living with the guilt of killing Adam along with not killing the one who killed Kofi.
There is a lot more that needs to be addressed along with what happens to Michael and really who doesn't want to see more Bryan Cranston and his incredible acting? As long as all the actors agree I say MORE MORE MORE PLEASE

  • KathyO - 5 years ago

I had a hard time with episode 10. Too many things going on. Feeing that the end was going to be horrible, I could barely watch it.
Adam...hmm. Through most of the series, he has been a fragile mess. His own father, in trying to protect him, did not see what a disaster Adam had become, largely due to the lies and not taking responsibility, making the worst possible decisions, in a somewhat sick way. Gravitating to the Baxters- ugh - a suicide wish.
I think the entire story would, however, make a good play that lasts a few hours at most. It has appropriately been described as ShakespeareanThe moral dilemma, the irony of Eugene having the last word with his pistol, although an accident, I can visualize it.
A second season could wrap up some loose ends, but maybe is better to leave the story where it finished at Season 10. Just desserts. For the judge. But still, did the kid have to die that way?

  • Al Postiglione - 5 years ago

Karma....... nothing more and nothing less.
A great ending with some details to keep you wondering.

  • Gerald Sirois - 5 years ago

The show was addictive ...... and the cast was uncomparable ! The ending didn't answer a number of things so I m truly hoping for at least another season or two. ???

  • Danicegirl - 5 years ago

I've already heard that the measure of a good ending is, does it leave you wanting more. Well this one sure left me wanting more, but not because the ending was good. It's was because I thought surely that wasn't the end of such a tight, compelling drama. Justice? No. Redemption? No. Closure? No. So what was that other than a meaningless ending? Don't bother with season two.

  • Tina - 5 years ago

Season 2... I’m waiting bet my sister she doesn’t think so but I know so will be waiting

  • Shelly - 5 years ago

Need a second series there is way to much happen need answers

  • Cassie van - 5 years ago

Horrible ending. Why wouldnt michael have called the cops to go to the hotel and texted adam to tell him to get out if there. Frankly adam has been babied by his father since the accident happened and adam had no appreciation for lengths his father went to save his ass. What kid sits by and watch his father break everything moral and ethical and then continues to go through life as if he did nothing wrong. Why was Adam in court for the trial. Complete lack of communication between father and son. Adam was a complete wuss! He got what he deserved

That baseball should have busted Adam when they were all at dinner to celebrate his acceptance at nyc. The baseball was laying on the table. Wouldnt adam have asked if that was HIS Mariano Rivera autographed baseball ? how many people have one?

Forget season 2. Michael has burned every bridge at this point. His dog probably hates him too!

  • Hery - 5 years ago

I like it that this is a complete story told in 10 episodes. There is closure and does not make us addicts.

  • James B - 5 years ago

It was a fucked up ending. I hate that I can't get all the time I wasted watching this shit back.

  • K Anthony - 5 years ago

The series premise of a crooked judge doing criminal acts to save his son who was a hit and run driver was CRIMINAL. Looking at some of the comments posted and how the judge to SAVE his son, framed an innocent young black teen, was an accessory to the murder of a witness to the coverup, the setup of the judge assigned to the case and the death of Kofi’s mother and siblings by the Baxters, says a lot about how justice isn’t blind. Life is a boomerang, what you give out, comes back in return. I hope there isn’t another season, if there is it should be one episode: how a crooked judge manipulated the court system to benefit the Baxters and went to JAIL

  • Michael schwab - 5 years ago

Loved series! Ending most appropriate.both Adam and Michael had to pay for their crimes.
Ending was very powerful.sorry hope davis didn’t have more to do.
    Very powerful ending.....

  • Micheal Mitchell - 5 years ago

Bryan Cranston is one of my favorite actors, So I knew I would enjoy the show. The ending was exactly what I wanted from a story with no need for a happy ending. Season 2 would be interesting possibly if Michael's son some how was alive (I guess). Honestly I am fine with one season.

  • Judi Silverman - 5 years ago

This may sound naive and since nobody has brought it up I'm almost hesitant to ask. But is it possible that since Michael stuck to the bargain and got Carlo off (saving his remaining son) would Jimmy wipe the slate clean and accept Adam since he knows how much his daughter loves him or was the hug just a temporary gesture to appease his daughter in order to figure out how to kill Adam in the future?

  • Susan S - 5 years ago

    Very poor ending.
Parent would’ve called police not jogged over to the hotel.
Show was gripping until this ridiculous finish.

  • James P Murphy - 5 years ago

Show was great throughout. Edge of your seat stuff. I didn't really have a problem with Adam dying although he didn't mean to kill Jimmy's son. The part I didn't like was the 15 year old going to shoot Rocco and then missing and hitting Adam by accident. I thought when the Mayor to be and the detective had the conversation towards the end that she might do something with the law to help out the judge. I was also waiting for Jimmy Baxter to whisper in Adam's ear when he was hugging him that he knew it was him and all bets were off and Jimmy Baxter was still going to kill him even though his son was found not guilty. I just didn't think the finale would be that the kid just missed with the gun and hits Adam instead. You could have a second season and add that whisper from Jimmy to Adam saying he knew it was him and let the show start the following year with Cranston and the new Mayor's police department coming after the Baxter crime family. Just a thought.

  • Jerry Tee - 5 years ago

Found this to be a gripping series. Intense acting by Bryan. All of the other performers did well also. This series was filled with twist and ironies. The biggest irony was depicted in the first episode. When Adam went to place a picture of his deceased mom in memorial, what caused him to trigger an asthma attack? It was the presence of the intimidating Desire gang approaching him, especially when he returned to find the picture of his mom, smashed to pieces. Had he not been scared into a panic attack, there wouldn’t have been a need to desperately fumble for the inhaler. Furthermore, why was Rocco blazing his new motorcycle in that part of town?

  • bree - 5 years ago

i hated the ending because i cried too much and i’m still crying. help me

  • Denise Rago - 5 years ago

Excellent acting. Riveting story with some obvious flaws- just like like the characters. Not sure of the significance of Robin’s infidelity to the story line. Wish the series was longer than ten episodes.

  • SANDRA - 5 years ago

I loved the entire series. I hope there is a season two. Would like to find out if Jimmy Baxter (who I love) becomes friends with Michael, now considered a crooked Judge, and how that alliance would form against the Desire group, and the soon to be new Mayor of NOLA.
What a wicked wed we weave...

  • Janey - 5 years ago

I loved every minute of it and absolutely did NOT see the ending coming. So disappointed it’s not coming back next season.

  • Kathleen - 5 years ago

Loved the show, hated the ending

  • Ellis Saull - 5 years ago

A series full of imperfect people, just like life. Any show that makes the viewer repeatedly ask "what if" has proved its merit. Michael could have taken the right course and taken his son into the Police to report, belatedly, the horrible accident and Adam's crime of leaving the scene.

Instead, the ducking and dodging ended up with far worse results than would have occurred with a prompt confession. The acting was superb, and the viewer's intelligence was not insulted in service to the story. The one perplexing point is the hyper-speed with which Kofi was arrested, charged and convicted. Any decent defense lawyer should have done better. But it was a necessary plot device. Notwithstanding that, the show was excellent.

  • Cathy Thomas - 5 years ago

Didn't know it was back on I cancelled my subscription

  • Allan - 5 years ago

The series and acting was great. It was very suspenseful. I liked the karma ending. The problem with the series is some of the manipulation which Michael did would not be done in a real court. First of all no juror can ask a question before deliberation as was supposedly asked by the dismissed juror. Also during deliberation if a question is asked or a playback is requested by the jury, it is given to the judge by the bailiff not left on a table. Also there is no way a jury would find Carlos not guilty unanimously because of sympathy. He lied on the stand about being scared because Kofi closed the cell door, where in actuality the door was never moved.

  • Marcella Respini - 5 years ago

Great story of poetic justice, superb acting and suspense with every episode. My only issue with the story is I don't understand how michael finagled a not guilty verdict & I'm going to rewatch the finale episode where everything seem to unravel one after another but that did leave me wondering. I didn't see the relevance of the mothers affair until you see it was a lesson for Adam to see nobody's perfect. At the end of one episode, the dog had found something with blood on it and I was never sure if this came back to bite the plan. I would watch a 2nd season to see what happens to Michael and Eugene, does the mayor clean up corruption and what happens to Carlos & his father..do they ever see retribution?

  • David W - 5 years ago

Easily the best series in a long, long time. Bryan Cranston is always superb, just gets better with each performance. The absolute agony on his face as he cradles his son at the end is heartbreaking. Adam never really had a chance, manipulated by so many all the way through this series, pulled in so many directions, his attraction to Fia somehow born out of his guilt. As much as I would like to see this story go on, what's the point? We knew from the beginning it would never end well. We just didn't realize how tragic the finale would be. Let it go....

  • Julie - 5 years ago

I did not like the ending at all. I want and needed the entire truth to come out. Michael's lie to "save his son" cost many other young lives to be ruined. It's typical in real life....money breeds corruption. Just ONCE I wanted the Kobi's in the world to be vindicated and Michael and his son go down for murder but I guess they need Season 2.

  • Shelley white - 5 years ago

Loved this limited series and hope n pray that it would have a 2nd, 3rd, 4th season! Best series that ive ever watched, before this it was Sopranos!

  • Joey G - 5 years ago

Come on, Carlos goes free. Eugenes family destroyed, no justice. How is that possible? Jimmy should have been shot.

  • Chris Christy - 5 years ago

Slow boring acting predictable and finally they didn t kill enough characters

  • Chris Christy - 5 years ago

Slow boring acting predictable and finally they didn t kill enough characters

  • Dee M - 5 years ago

The ending was inevitable, the Judge betraying his oath from the beginning out of fear of losing his son to either the system or Jimmy Baxter, he lost him anyway, Poetic Justice. If there's a second season, what cause his deceased wife to have a affair & the Judge should be unbenced, he might have had something to do with her murder, since he was aware of the affair. Everytime he went jogging it was always in the area where she was murdered!!!

  • Laura - 5 years ago

It was the perfect ending. Those who watched get to consider their own ending, will the Judge be charged. But the ending created a natural justice. The shooter wasn’t aiming for Adam. Makes one think of what they would do to protect their child. If only....if only they would have went into the police station and told what happened. What would have happened to Adam at the beginning? Without judging, Justice was done. I thought it couldn’t have ended any other way. Excellent work!!!

  • ChrisTet - 5 years ago

Justice is justice !! This is the law of retaliation, modern version !! Michael hasn,'t succeeded to control everything.
He has given money to his son's murderer... Irony of the history !
Just one critic, I would have prefered that Eugene intentionally kills Adam. I'm disappointed this is accidental !

  • Ron - 5 years ago

I watched it because of Cranston, but the ending was awful, making me wish that I would have skipped the entire ten weeks.

  • Richard - 5 years ago

Meh. Good acting but unsatisfying ending. Way too may cliches, subplots, ad contrived coincidences. This was not a nuanced series; once I accepted that, I was enjoying it and suspending disbelief as with Breaking Bad, Animal Kingdom, etc. But that meant they needed to tie up loose ends. If they have a second seadon, that could still happen. If not, then this story ultimately doesn't deliver.

  • Vin chase - 5 years ago

Anyone notice the significance of that darn baseball, I was wondering why do they keep holding to it. Michael unknowingly contributed to his son's demise, by harmlessly selling a baseball; mind you the baseball was his or son's own baseball, ultimately by Eugene purchasing the murder weapon with the baseball funds. Brilliant foreplotting, hopefully a season 2 is in the works.

  • Kim Schuster - 5 years ago

I didn’t think it was possible to see a better series than Breaking Bad with the amazing Bryan Cranston, but it came in Your Honor, absolutely loved it,all the actors were amazing, please bring us a season 2.

  • Nick villegas - 5 years ago

I hope there is a second season? And what will happen? Will micheal get revenge with Jimmy? Will they get Carlo after all?

  • Chris cain - 5 years ago

One of the best series i have seen in a long long time great acting lots of drama i couldnt take my eyes off tv cant wait to see what happens in season 2 when series is over there should be alot of awards handed out i will be waiting for season 2 hope time goes by fast cant wait to see what happens next

  • Jim - 5 years ago

Very well acted and unsettling. The judge got caught up in his own web of lies at the expense of others.

  • Sandralee - 5 years ago

Loved it all!!! But didnt understand the relevance of robins infidelity

  • Sweetone - 5 years ago

The basic issue, always tell the truth. You know the truth. Lies make you stupid and phony. Power and authority, Your Honor, (a father)had to control the problems confronted him. Lead by example, do the right thing and you go to heaven? This was a no one will win situation. Never expected the ultimate greek tragedy ending. Like a quiet rain, boom boom it ended.

  • Annmarie Kelly - 5 years ago

I absolutely loved the show I couldn't get enough of it it was riveting I haven't seen such a great program since The sopranos on HBO way back when!! I do believe that karma is a bitch.. like they say what you do comes back to you and if he had to come clean from the beginning he could have avoided all of the tragedy that ultimately cost him everything he loved!! BRAVO!! to all the brilliant actors on this great series!! .. P.S. I love you Bryan Cranston!! Simply the Best!!! ????⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • Colin - 5 years ago

Mixed feelings about the ending. There’s a lot of suspension of disbelief for the jury to come back with the not guilty verdict. The affair really served no purpose, other than to show how protective Michael is of Adam, and the show wouldn’t have suffered any if it was left out. The irony is that Michael had a chance to cleanse his soul only to ultimately be the cause of his son’s death. The problem is what happens next. Too many people know the truth and we know the Baxter’s are unforgiving and vicious. Eugene will still want revenge for his family. The truth is bound to come out and a lot of people are going to be destroyed. Michael’s downfall works but too many questions are left up in the air.

  • Allan Wexler - 5 years ago

I enjoyed every episode. The writing and acting were outstanding. I would love to have seen another season but there is no reason to continue. I am a Bryan Cranston fan.

  • Sharon J - 5 years ago

Some of the best acting I’ve ever seen on tv. Sometimes one has to suspend disbelief when it comes to plot just to be able to see performances like this. Certainly would watch a second season but can see no reason for one. Justice, in its own perverse way, has been done.
