I’m an RN, I have cared for people with Covid and personally known people who have died from Covid, some without pre-existing conditions. I received both shots, minimal side effects. I will travel more and I will wear a mask. Let’s not make this about politics, pandemics happen as history has shown. You can follow good science or gamble with your health, your call. Please don’t be self-centered, wear a mask to protect others, practice kindness and selflessness.

    Next question...

Agree with Patrick on Jazmine's overly-emotional rant. Obvious she is a Trump acolyte. It renders her comment useless and annoying. Cheeto Trump lost! Get over it.

  • Patrick Alcatraz - 3 years ago

Jazmine, too many "qualifiers" in your comment, like "may have been" and "most certainly," for me to give it any sort of credibility. Yes, much is yet unknown, but that's historical with pandemics. It might have been a good thing for you to further identify yourself as a scientist, or lauded academic or CIA mole, but we know nothing about who you are or what your motives may be. Masks? It's a stab at deterrence, child. True, we are still at the mercy of the airborne Covid-19 virus, but for you to arrive here as some sort of feminine Juan Diego or excitable Turkey Lurkey without your credentials is, indeed, laughable.

    Try again, kid...

The same people who ranted about they would NEVER trust a vaccine made during the Trump administration abruptly reverse course. We shall try very hard not to read too much into that.

The virus has a 99.87% survival rate. The overwhelming majority who catch it will have mild symptoms and many are asymptotic.

It arrived earlier in California than most pols will acknowledge. And California preserved its pristine anti-xenophobic posture by looking the other way when visitors from China arrived by way of Europe.

The bug may have been in California as early as October, almost certainly by November. Doctors were seeing patients with viral symptoms that did not appear to be seasonal flu. Some were misdiagnosed as common colds. A number of doctors wrote them up as an “atypical flu” or similar language.

If you are in a high risk category, you *know* that. If you feel frightened of the virus, the onus on *you* to protect *yourself*. You know how to self-isolate. It is neither necessary nor healthy to seize control of the entire planet in some intentionally misguided effort to “protect” yourself.

Posting death counts has zero significance and should be ignored. We will NEVER have accurate data. It has been thoroughly corrupted by China reporting to WHO, US hospitals being incentivized via significant money to falsely blame the virus for in-hospital deaths, and built-in government incompetence across all levels. Took a few rounds to the chest? Another CV-19 fatality!

Masks are an essential part of a mindless ritual that does far more harm than good. The virus sails right through cloth. The fancy masks? Much better, as long as **strict** protocols are religiously followed. Once you touch it, the mask is rendered useless. They must be laundered after *every* wearing. By “laundered”, we mean washed in the same detergent used by hospitals at the same temps.

Do not think that any of this is secret.

Governments are invested in keeping you muzzled. Between 70-90% of all communication is nonverbal. You can’t even smile at a stranger. We cannot effectively communicate with each other. Many people get sick from wearing masks. Your government favors any gadget that will make it difficult for the citizenry to talk to each other. Potential resistance is minimized. And, the peasants DIY’d it!

Whatever the true death count is, it will be a drop in the ocean compared to the “deaths of despair” which, of course, your government under reports.

Do not take *my* word for any of this. That would be reckless. I encourage you all to review the research that came out of Stanford and was unceremoniously buried. Even UCLA eventually admitted to have gotten the same findings.

Presumably everyone here is an adult. Why censor that which you do not like, administrator? I may just cancel my subscription. Humor, however ribald, helps mankind overcome its problems, like Covid. Revisit your decision to remove comments.

  • Robert Corkrum - 3 years ago

If you removed Boner's comments, then see if you can get your fingers out of your ass and remove mine!

    Dictatorial shit will not work.

  • Brad Boner - 3 years ago

You removed my comments?! FREE SPEECH!!!

What - are you some closet moralist now? I know all about you, administrator.

  • Morris Floyd - 3 years ago

Those here saying they won't take the vaccine, or worse yet won't wear masks, are deplorable. Whether you get sick is your business. Whether you make someone else sick is everybody's business, and you are one of the reasons this pandemic has spread so fast in places like the US and Mexico.

  • Phil Schlosser - 3 years ago

Well actually going to take it, we where very apprehensive about doing this because of the rush to certify. Thinking most vaccines take 5 years and this one 6 months, I would think it was really to rapidly put through vaccine, just wis I could wait a few years to really see what the outcome will be

  • pickard - 3 years ago

The stupidity of the masses not willing to take this vaccine is unfortunately not surprising. Some chooose to live in the dark ages despite this being 21st century!
Similar applies to equating mask wearing with the lack of freedom... huh?
What fredom or "liberty" does one have in a coma, with tubes sticking in and out of every orifice of your body?
Also - are you all nay-sayers aware of LONG TERM effects of covid-19, some very negatively affecting a multitude of organs not even related to respiratory system. Besides - your obstinacy to adopt these simple safety measures may cause someone else's severe sickness or death... Smarten-up, people!

  • Diana Beamish - 3 years ago

My husband and I have just had the vaccine. We are in our seventies and healthy, we didn't wear masks and shopped normally.
I don't agree with it and never have the flu jab. But freedom is more important and now at least we might be able to get out of England and come to Mexico or wherever.
It is very depressing, madness has overtaken the world, so many lives are ruined and there will be more suffering. Considering world population very few have died from covid 19, and most who have had underlying health issues.

  • Donna Remak - 3 years ago

I traveled the entire time of the pandemic. I will not accept the covid vaccine. I will wait and see what the long term side effects will be of the vaccine. I had many Covid 19 symptoms in January 2020 while traveling in Bangkok Thailand. I survived the viral infection. Who knows if I would survive the vaccine. Why take a chance?

  • David Bossman - 3 years ago

Reading these anti-vaccine comments reminds me of something I learned a long time ago. People that answer these kinds of survey questions usually are the ones who feel most strongly AGAINST something. The 70 % of the people who say they will enthusiastically take the vaccine are NOT represented here. How many of these resisters were given the Salk vaccine against polio when they were young? Yet, they're still around!
COvid is a scourge. The vaccine is a gift. Get real..this is about Science.

  • gabriel villeneuve - 3 years ago

not before another 6 month or more if needed

  • Emmett W Bratt - 3 years ago

I will not be more inclined to travel after the vaccine because I have never stopped. The vaccine DOES NOT stop covid, read the material people, it mearly makes it milder and YES you can still be reinfected and catch it again.

Enjoy life now, who knows you might get killed by lightening if you dont have your lightening rod with you

  • Salvador garcia - 3 years ago

Lots of fake news attacking masks and Vaccination here.

  • Suzan Zaner - 3 years ago

I have been traveling since March of 2020 with no mask. Not concerned about getting sick much less dying. I'm 65 and healthy. This is a scam to rob you of your freedom not to mention your sanity.

  • Garry Montgomery - 3 years ago

I guess people have reasons for not trusting their government, but to claim the vaccine is a con job is ridiculous. So, maybe it won't prevent infection but if it reduces the likelihood of death from infection I think it's worth the risk. And sure, we'll be wearing masks for a long while to come but Japan has had a mask mandate for years if you have the flu or even a head-cold. It's just courtesy.

  • Phil Crawford - 3 years ago

It's a shame to see ignorant people making anti-vaccine comments.
I will get the vaccine as soon as it's available to me.
    Whichever one is offered.

  • colleen milligan - 3 years ago

it is not a vaccine. it is a technological device to alter the RNA. I have an excellent immune system and never get the fu so i will not volunteer for this eugenics device. Research how many are dying after the shot. NO THANKS

  • Sandra Price - 3 years ago

I came back to Canada for a short visit 11 months ago while my husband stayed in Mexico. Then Lockdown! You bet I'll travel south when I get the two doses of vaccine.

  • skooby - 3 years ago

I wouldn't even get the vaccination first of all. I haven't stopped traveling. The virus and the virus variants are all over the world. It's like saying if you get the vaccine would you travel across town. Doesn't matter where you travel the virus is there, and also, the vaccines ONLY help you from getting a severe case of covid that would require hospitalization. It in no means prevents you from contracting and spreading the virus. Many people just don't understand that. I don't want any foreign substance in my body, when I can simply prevent myself from ever getting covid by avoiding people, and wearing N95 masks. Which is what I've been doing since February 2020.
