What find really annoying about my iPhone is when I hit the stop button, on my keyboard or Bluetooth headset, and it starts playing music where I had played some song six months ago. I hardly ever play music on it and would turn the music off, altogether, if I could.

For those of us on iTunes Match and current Sprint (now T-Mobile) subscribers, it is complicated. My music on iTunes Match means that I use the standard Music app on an iPhone or iPad, but if there is some music that I don’t own and want to stream, I use Tidal. As an aside, I started looking at the Tidal/Square deal this morning to see if SoftBank was getting out of Tidal, and if at some point the new T-Mobile will drop the free Tidal that comes with the legacy Sprint unlimited plans. I’m not finding anything. If that were to happen, and we lost free Tidal, we would switch to Apple Music, and I would drop my iTunes Match.

I’ve been on Android for yours. YouTube music (while it has drawbacks) is far more in tune with what I like than Apple Music. I’ve thumbed up every song I like on Apple Music that I have on YouTube and yet while I mainly listen to edm, pop trap...it’s infuriating all the genres I have to thumbs down in Apple Music. Trying to play country music, or alternative rock. Like come on in my experience Apple Music is trash if you like it to introduce you to new music. Google definitely has a good AI thing going on.

I don't have a default music service because I subscribe to Apple Music, Spotify, and TIDAL.

I don't feel a need to change my default apps (including for music), but I do use some personal favorites far more than those defaults.
I don't listen much to music, but I have a paid subscription to Spotify (to encourage myself).

I used to use Spotify years ago, but it never really caught my full attention. Obviously this is just my opinion and this is down to everyone’s personal preferences, but for me Apple Music’s features are far more useful than anything else I tried.
I’ll stick with AM. Not because I don’t want to give others a chance; but because I already have.
