I've seen a lot of "Bad Magic" issues with iMac Pro machines. Especially when using external displays. Seems Apple had trouble with the T2 setup. Maybe the M1 will resolve all the issues they had with bridging between tech.
The gap between and iMac and the Mac Pro is huge for photographers and amateur videographers with the iMac not being fast enough with enough expansion for more storage or attached devices and Mac Pro with the Apple Monitor being wildly expensive and seemingly aimed at professional film editors and other very high end users. The iMac Pro was not really the right solution. I would prefer something somewhere between the Mac Mini and the Mac Pro with some expansion capacity, especially for memory, and an external Apple Monitor like the iMac 27" but capacity to drive at least two if not three monitors. An iMac Pro that can easily drive two additional monitors would also work as long as one could be an 8K monitor.
