We need more shows like this that are just goofy funny. It thankful reminds me of the comedies that were on when I was a kid, ones that were actually funny.

I enjoyed the lighter side that’s on the surface, but I also appreciated the deeper theme of transitioning into the unknown in Afghanistan and in the USA, of relationships as a returning vet, the wife of one, and an immigrant from a war zone where both men
had to survive moment to moment. I look forward to learning more.

Lose the predictable laugh track and I’ll try to watch again.

I liked that the new sitcom explores the difficulty of transitioning back to civilian life for both husbands and wives. It could be really valuable to veterans and their families to show the difficulty of living with PTSD. Another plus is that I learned 2 things about Afghanistan I didn't know. And I think this is the first time I've heard Pashto on network television. Yay!
BUT I think the show leans way, way too hard on the "friendly, wide-eyed, helpful, brown native" trope. It's as awful as The Lone Ranger and Tonto. I'm a Boomer. I'm not particularly woke. I don't go sniffing around for perceived racism but this show steps way over the line in spite of having Afghani/Muslim writers. Poking fun at abstinence from pork and alcohol is cheap and racist. Showing him haggling in the grocery store and bribing a cop are racist. It's 2021. They need to do better.

Not entertainment, to predictable on script. One character has all the comedy lines, poor decision.

I thought the actors looked uncomfortable, probably because if the awful dialogue. The whole thing was so fake, really forced and insipid.

Despite there being controversy around the subject of the show, started by people who haven’t seen the show, it was very good. Funny, touching, funny again, finished off by more funny! Give it a chance!

Really enjoyed the relationship between the two men, who are also terrific actors. Clever, and thankfully Lorre still has his A+writing team. Sister as well has a great back story and performance, while the Dad is an awesome character actor!

I just love the premise of this show. Cannot wait for next week's episode.
