My husband and I had a tour of Scotland with a native and her husband in 2000. We were part of a private tour from North Carolina. Reflecting on my emotions (grandfather ne: Scotland) brought many very emotional moments throughout the expedition. History and culture are very important to both of us. Outlander, the TV series was a welcome benefit. I had been reading Diana Gabaldon's Outlander book series. The landscapes, colors, historical museums and sites and the Tatoo were amazing and brought such pride of place. The people (and our bus drive) were so friendly, funny and full of stories with us throughout. I felt "woven" into the country and brought home many crafts to expand our memory of Scotland...its sounds, its architecture, its lochs and shops and eateries. So grateful.
