Cudos to the writers for leaving the door open for Shawnette who is a beautiful and brilliant actress! As the audience, we only care about what we like but entertainers must make life decisions about themselves as well as we would when it comes to family and life. This show is awesome and Shawnette knows it so it could not have been as easy to make this choice but it had to be more necessary. The beautiful way she exited the show leaves me hope and I look for the day she just appears in a taxi returning, just as she left. The entire cast is extremely talented and they will do fine but I am going to miss Shawnette’s character and I wish her well and hope all is good with her. Thank you for The Resident, I still love this show!

I have no words..just tears. When I get into a show I feel like I know the characters. Just like Mina said the characters seem like family and I know each and every one of them personally. Really hope Mina comes back in the future.
I've always loved AJ and Mina together. They make an amazing couple, but Mina herself is a strong, independent woman who does and says what she says and feels, despite the company she's in or the feelings she may affect, and that's what makes Mina......Mina! I had a terrible feeling that this last episode was her exit episode, but I kept hoping I was wrong and that they would find a way for Mina not to have to go to Nigeria. Oh well, I have to respect that even the best want to move on. I am grateful that the writers did such a fabulous ending for her and left plenty of opportunity for our Mina to come back. So please come back at some point Mina ❤️

The Resident had become my favorite shows.the cast, the characters and the storylines are just magnificent. Mina and AJ are my 2 favorite characters on the show. I had no idea that Shaunette was leaving the show. They just finally got together and now this. I wish the best for Shaunette and I hope she will see how loved she is and comes back to save AJ when he goes through everything with his Mom and Cain. Maybe she comes back for the funeral when his Mom passes. Best show ever! I will continue to watch!!

I absolutely love Mina!! I didn’t believe it was real( her exit), so I googled it only to confirm my worst fears for her character. I believe in individuals charting their own path and must honor her decision, but I don’t have to like it.
I’m grateful to the powers that be and the writers for not killing her off, dignifying her departure, and leaving the option for her return. She was such a powerful representation of Black beauty and female strength and professionalism. She resonated with so many women of all backgrounds who work hard to be the best in their profession and yet remain true to themselves. I even loved her vulnerability to love and loss. AJ and I will be waiting with bated breath!

This has to be THE best show on ! My critique involves Conrad, who is unintelligible most of the time, and with Mina's character being cut, it is ONE HUGE LOSS to the show. ONE implausible thing, no, wait, TWO of them, was Bell going from a shaking evil mess to the par excellence doc he is now..and Cain being redeemed?? I think not

I am just heartbroken for Mina and Malcolm. I hope she reconsiders. I really feel like her character is vital to the show. I can’t imagine why she wanted to leave! Will truly miss her! But I thank the producers for doing it right! Let the fans get the send off and goodbyes they deserve from characters they love!

First let me say I LOVE this show SO much! Every single character seems to have purpose. The show deals with real and current issues and so honestly and gracefully. So many of the lead characters personas have been altered by other characters influence or from events they have experienced, which I find very refreshing. Mina and AJ were both two of those characters who both grew for the better through their relationship with each other. It was Heartbreaking for me to see she was leaving because she is such a strong role model for women, so I hope you find a way to grow another character into that role model, but no one will ever “replace” Mina on the show. She was one of a kind. I do hope you find a way to keep she and AJ’s relationship alive and at some point convince her to return even if only for random episodes. My heart was just as broken for AJ and all he is dealing with. This show has the most amazing characters and cast! I hope it continues for a very, very, very long time! Bravo to the writers and producers as well.

I love how this show has very strong female and male roles and they are all dealing with ethics in our broken for profit health care system. This social justice health care as a human right makes this political activism as well as art of theater, acting, story-telling. We need theater that develops characters struggling with ethics and personal integrity- to not sell your soul within the pressures of a for-profit system. Kudos to the writers, producers, actors and actresses in this series. Shaunette Wilson is such a strong, talented, smart, elegant, fiesty top notch actor surgeon. It's great how the show developed her professional priority and endeared us bonding her good hearted vulnerability with AJ growing as individuals and together both professionally and open heartedly with her as well. AJ and Mina's bond and Conrad and Nevin's bond and other doctors and nurses and how they all grew as family makes them stronger together to fight for the humanity of health care as a human right. Racism is a huge disease in America so Mina and AJ's high standards of professionalism skillfulness and love story breaks sterotypes and gives characters who are positive role models with depth and integrity. Cain is also a very talented actor (I admired him in Rosewood and it's fun to see him play such a selfish, talented corporate ambitious doctor in The Resident). The conflict about ethics/money/ambition/greed heavy pressure to excel to represent your gender/racial ethnicity and personhood is artfully wielded through great acting between these characters:). It's an honor to see really strong men and women share the vulnerability of their heart and cry supporting each other through real life challenges and hard choices. It's great to have our closest family sticking by each other. I don't want the show to lose Mina because she is Stellar but I look forward to seeing her Shining in whatever her artistry is calling her to do next:) I love that her character enjoyed the creative flair of original fashion design as well. Nice showing women role models balancing professional career/family life/mothering/ artistry. Which Doctor also has a passion for being an accomplished musician? Can we live it all and not sacrifice the most important things?

I was hoping that in some way, Mina would NOT have to leave and that she would be able to stay at Chastain. I had NO idea that she was leaving the show PERMANENTLY. Shaunette made this character and hopes one day, she decides to come back.

I liked the AJ and Mina relationship but didn't think I was very invested in it. Hmphh, I was crying at the end and when the show was finished, I just said "WOW". I'm sorry to see her go. She was a unique character. Wish it was Cain leaving instead. Can't wait to see how the rest of the season plays out with AJ and Cain.

It was difficult to watch Mina leave the show. She was such an amazing character and actress intrical to the show. It was a great send off, with an opening for a possible return in the future. So sad for AJ losing Mina and possibly his mother to cancer. Almost had me in tears, being able to relate to the loss of someone you love. Interesting to see what unfolds in future episodes between Drs Austin and Cain, will AJ seek revenge on Cain for losing Mina?

Given the fact that she already had the idea of leaving from the start, I can appreciate the send off. However, she was just as integral as Conrad. Although Conrad had more time to prove his worth, Mina was coming into her own identity within the show. We lost a good one and even the show must go on, yall will have a hard time filling that void. My wife and will still be watching but Good Luck. Try not to change your stellar show too much! If it isn't broke, don't fix it.

I was heart broken to see these to breakup especially after it took so much to get them together. Mina was lovely beautiful and honest and taught AJ that he did have a beautiful heart worth loving. (Personally I wish her the best on her departure) Going forward hi I hope AJ finds balance- I’m sure all the stages of grief are going to hit him so that should make a interesting watch. This show has shown so much redemption-I know they will keep us watching excited every week.

I absolutely cried my eyes out at the end of the episode tonight. Mina is such a great character and Shaunette is a very accomplished actor ????, I have watched The Resident since the pilot episode and have loved Mina and AJ from the beginning. I always thought that they'd end up together. I just hope that she comes back before the show ends and they reunite. Absolutely can't wait to see how season 4 ends and I will continue to keep watching as long as it is on.

Awesome show. ..heartwrenching on many sides. I wept during the final moments. I understand leaving a job when it's time and this is Ms. Wilson's time. I mourn as though you were my family. I love you and ty for the special character you portrayed! As a retired RN, I rarely watch medical shows. You and the rest of the cast have certainly raised the bar! Of course we don’t know why Shaunette (Mina) wanted to leave The Resident ... maybe a movie deal in the works somewhere? I just hope before this show wraps for good, that she can make a cameo appearance as “returning” from Nigeria to marry her beloved AJ. That would be a truly great ending ... she’s able to re-enter the country and come back to live “happily ever after.” Looking forward to the struggles ahead that the writers have in mind with Cain and AJ. Clearly Cain needs to be the one to go! Will Pravesh & his co-worker become an arranged marriage that is more about love? Or does Pravesh have a soft spot for Rose and she’s healed from Sickle Cell? Can hardly WAIT for next week’s tornado episode!! Yikes!! ????

She did an excellent job of bring the character Mina to life; it was quite an accomplishment to make a rather distant and aloof character become so beloved by both the other characters on the show and by the viewers as well. I don't want the show to lose Mina because she is Stellar but I look forward to seeing her Shining in whatever her artistry is calling her to do next:) I love that her character enjoyed the creative flair of original fashion design as well. Nice showing women role models balancing professional career/family life/mothering/ artistry. Which Doctor also has a passion for being an accomplished musician? Can we live it all and not sacrifice the most important things?
I so miss Mina already. She made AJ a much better man in dealing with his arrogance. She was the woman for him and stood her grounds in her difference of opinions. I believe that's why they were a power couple. They respected each other's opinions and voiced their likes and dislikes. I,am so sorry to see her go, but I wish her well.

I was hoping that in some way, Mina would NOT have to leave and that she would be able to stay at Chastain. I had NO idea that she was leaving the show PERMANENTLY. Shaunette made this character and hopes one day, she decides to come back.
I liked the AJ and Mina relationship but didn't think I was very invested in it. Hmphh, I was crying at the end and when the show was finished, I just said "WOW". I'm sorry to see her go. She was a unique character. Wish it was Cain leaving instead. Can't wait to see how the rest of the season plays out with AJ and Cain.
It was difficult to watch Mina leave the show. She was such an amazing character and actress intrical to the show. It was a great send off, with an opening for a possible return in the future. So sad for AJ losing Mina and possibly his mother to cancer. Almost had me in tears, being able to relate to the loss of someone you love. Interesting to see what unfolds in future episodes between Drs Austin and Cain, will AJ seek revenge on Cain for losing Mina?
I'm heartbroken, angry and very emotional. I LOVE this program and especially Shaunette. I think I identify with her. I'm very headstrong and hate to be emotional. I'm bawling like a baby!

I loved how you handled Mina's exit and must say it did bring me to tears. She will be missed, but am excited to see what storyline is next. I love the show and all the great characters. Let's hope Mina returns in seasons to come, as I can only imagine what a great storyline it would be.

Given the fact that she already had the idea of leaving from the start, I can appreciate the send off. However, she was just as integral as Conrad. Although Conrad had more time to prove his worth, Mina was coming into her own identity within the show. We lost a good one and even the show must go on, yall will have a hard time filling that void. My wife and will still be watching but Good Luck. Try not to change your stellar show too much! If it isn't broke, don't fix it.

She was one of my favorite characters on the show. I’m not happy that she left the show, but you did an awesome exit for her character. I only hope for her return one day. I have been a fan from the first episode and never missed an episode. Thankyou for great entertainment

I was heart broken to see these to breakup especially after it took so much to get them together. Mina was lovely beautiful and honest and taught AJ that he did have a beautiful heart worth loving. (Personally I wish her the best on her departure) Going forward hi I hope AJ finds balance- I’m sure all the stages of grief are going to hit him so that should make a interesting watch. This show has shown so much redemption-I know they will keep us watching excited every week.

I was so moved by the last scenes and I cried with her. I love the Mina character and she and AJ were great together. I'm glad they at least got together on the show. This was one of the best send offs. Great job.
I cried so hard, I just love Mina. AJ and her had such incredible chemistry. I love the show and all the characters are awesome. . I really hope she will come back in the future and AJ and her will get married.
I absolutely cried my eyes out at the end of the episode tonight. Mina is such a great character and Shaunette is a very accomplished actor ????, I have watched The Resident since the pilot episode and have loved Mina and AJ from the beginning. I always thought that they'd end up together. I just hope that she comes back before the show ends and they reunite. Absolutely can't wait to see how season 4 ends and I will continue to keep watching as long as it is on.
....Mina finds out she's pregnant in Nigeria.....future mother in law (hint) recovers from cancer from extensive treatments....Mina returns next season to find out Malcolm's character is engaged to someone else....???????

Awesome show. ..heartwrenching on many sides. I wept during the final moments. I understand leaving a job when it's time and this is Ms. Wilson's time. I mourn as though you were my family. I love you and ty for the special character you portrayed! As a retired RN, I rarely watch medical shows. You and the rest of the cast have certainly raised the bar! Blessings on your journey and maybe see you again!
Mina’s leaving breaks my heart. I am was very fond of the character Shaunette played. You will be sorely missed. The show will never be the same without you.
There are just not enough words in the English dictionary to describe my feelings of Ms. Shaunette leaving the show. Episode 10 was her last show....REALLY! The dynamic duo is no more. Then the Resident is no more for me.

Of course we don’t know why Shaunette (Mina) wanted to leave The Resident ... maybe a movie deal in the works somewhere? I just hope before this show wraps for good, that she can make a cameo appearance as “returning” from Nigeria to marry her beloved AJ. That would be a truly great ending ... she’s able to re-enter the country and come back to live “happily ever after.” Looking forward to the struggles ahead that the writers have in mind with Cain and AJ. Clearly Cain needs to be the one to go! Will Pravesh & his co-worker become an arranged marriage that is more about love? Or does Pravesh have a soft spot for Rose and she’s healed from Sickle Cell? Can hardly WAIT for next week’s tornado episode!! Yikes!! ????
Hate that Mina had to leave. Just loved to see the two of them together. Tremendous acting of these two actors. All of the actors on this show are excellent. Great show one of my favorite. Writing & Acting is a joy to watch.

I believe this is a huge mistake to lose this character. Shaunette is a force in everything she does. The Resident will not be the same with the loss of her character. From her beauty, the way she dresses to the way she displays confidence and attitude: I miss her already!
Sorry to hear that Shaunette is leaving the series. I was hoping that maybe she was pregnant and was going to take a leave of absence. She did an excellent job of bring the character Mina to life; it was quite an accomplishment to make a rather distant and aloof character become so beloved by both the other characters on the show and by the viewers as well. I will miss her alot.
I am very saddened by her departure, but the show handled it with grace and compassion. She was one of the good ones!
