What are your thoughts on former police officer Derek Chauvin being found guilty of murdering George Floyd?
I hope this is a turning point for how we prosecute police brutality cases against minorities.
It's just one guilty verdict — that won't change the system that needs an immense overhaul. There's still work to do.
It's clear Chauvin was in the wrong... but second degree murder? I think just manslaughter would have been appropriate.
Chauvin was doing his job, and not only got canned for it, but got convicted of murder. What message does that send to other officers of the law?
This is not an issue I care about.
