Please don't kill off George or let him have a full-fledged affair. We love the show as it is. It would ruin the show if everything Sheldon said on Big Bang Theory happened. It has been many years now since the Big Bang series finale, and I find it hard to believe that any viewers of young Sheldon want any of this to transpire

  • Felicia - 3 years ago

This is supposed to be a comedy. Let’s keep it light and funny. This season has been depressing. I sure don’t want George to cheat.

  • Bonnie Marshalll - 3 years ago

Please don't let George have an affair. Watching BBT I had the impression that George was a drunken jerk but once Young Sheldon came on I fell in love with all the characters. George has proven to be a loving kind husband and father. He doesn't have to be the same as portrayed in BBT. Please don't spoil Young Sheldon.

  • Peyton - 3 years ago

Please keep all the young Sheldon characters likeable. Complete synchrony with the bbt is not essential. Besides, sheldon’s perspective on his dad is not completely accurate. Keep young Sheldon a likeable rather than topical show. Not everything has to be topical and modern. I miss the early pre1970s shows that were idealized but escapism and set good role models for kidd

  • Portia Lyn Edwards - 3 years ago

    Don't do it
It will certify a certain early demise of young Sheldon
Let Brenda be the soft sweet friend that we all know she can be because her and Mary have a new friendship Mary supporting Brenda when Brenda's husband left and she wouldn't want to do that to her friend let her have kind words for George senior and send him back to his wife please let George Sr have second thoughts that he loves Mary and all they've been through has been worth it please let John Sturgis and Connie get back together they're good for each other and they're funny as a couple Dale's a jerk fire him at least tell him to shave his damn chest with a white wiry hair sticking out of his shirt he's nasty and he looks dirty in this these this particular show I like Craig Nelson but not in this episode they've got him looking like a hobo curb Sheldon a little bit he's just too much to take his smart ass and selfishness is just too much back that up just a half a turn give Missy more to do she's a young woman and her and Georgie could be best of friends George is a young man let him grow without soiling his character but if you have George senior cheat on his wife your show's done I predict it'll die in early death and Mr lure you can't afford many more people are starting to wonder

    Don't do it please

  • Portia Edwards - 3 years ago

No affair please let George Sr be a decent man they're so few of them in the world decent human beings let alone cut it in half by being a male don't let Brenda forsake Mary's friendship they've had a hard road of it and finally found a bond please don't kill that by her and George having an affair it'll kill your show certainly and there's not much left on TV here in Eastern Kentucky it's nothing but sports and and cop shows and we're all sick of it we're living on the reruns of check lore shows you know you have to buy two and a half Men now you can't find Mike and Molly mom was a good show it needs to be retabbed but it should have carried on one day at a time this is us Parenthood so many good shows not all of them are Chuck roars but they were good shows and this one is going to die by the same hand if you don't recognize the chemistry but you create that kills your shows your destined to repeat it and young Sheldon does not need all the nastiness of the world invoked into that show you don't have to follow every memory Sheldon has please don't kill off young Sheldon by killing George or them having an affair or Brenda forsaking her friendship with Mary just don't do it please

  • Guyden Uzor - 3 years ago

Please don’t do this. I watch Nickelodeon Young Sheldon reruns almost every night. Even though George is big an gruff he’s just so endearing. How he privately interacts with his children in personal times is so sweet and thoughtful. I’ve seen them all dozens of times up to 4/20. Every freaking time, every time he and Sheldon, comforting him on the plane going to cal tech and they hold hands makes me cry. Comfoting missy when she’s crying when she got dumped, offering to best the boy up, it’s just sweet. And the little pause and the “okay “, I love it! There’s too many more to count that makes him so endearing. Please mr Lorre don’t let George have an affair with Anybody else. She’s a control freak but I love Mary so much too. I was cheated on it’s pain like a death in the family, which please just kill George after Sheldon moves away please and don’t show it. Every body has cracks in their marriages but please not this family. They don’t have a follow the status quo of broken hearts and families and adultery. You’ve got a winner please let us continue to be in love with the coopers. Because personally I really don’t think I can bear that kind of familial pain and I know I don’t want to see it. Can’t one thing in the world not be ugly? Have Georgie get killed in a head on collision on a comedy? That’s not funny. Which I know he’s the tire doctor so...just asking you not to do this. Let the family stay whole please. Thank you. Please.

  • Joni McLin - 3 years ago

This is the only comedy I watch. I do not like George committing adultery. Please to not have the story line go that way. I don't care if the adult Sheldon eluded to it before or not. Don't do it.
This is a different show. They are all make believe anyway.

I will stop watching it. The whole charm will be ruined with real life.

  • Marty - 3 years ago

I have loved George’s Character but I’m really bummed ☹️ if things turn out to be adultry. I have enjoyed all of the characters and never miss a show but I will be really disappointed if the writers have George behave in this manner the way the family jokes after small mishaps won’t be the same if they have George commit adulterous behaviors

  • Sharon Harter - 3 years ago

The season finale turned YS from a family comedy into an upside down drama. George has been the most compassionate parent of the two although he has been henpecked & muted by bully Mary using the church as her cover to be self righteous as way to atone for her own unplanned pregnancy. The character of George would not commit adultery especially after he just finally had the face off with Mary! I sincerely doubt I will continue to watch YS if the next season goes down the road of adultery and killing off George. Also, it would be an insensitive time to take a dark path in YS after months of darkness in our country due to the pandemic. YS will cease to serve those of us expecting a family show which gives us positive outcomes each week.

  • ETHEL Mathey - 3 years ago

Very disappointing to see an otherwise refreshing moral family fall to the current trend of "anything goes; just sleep with any and all All good series seem to fall when morality starts to be boring. Frankly immorality is boring!!! It's everywhere!!

  • L Colvin - 3 years ago

Ok writers, it’s time to call on Elizabeth Loftus and let Adult Sheldon recognize that memories are unreliable! They change over time. No way that what Adult Sheldon recalls about his Dad is true. Use it. Let the viewers learn something along with YS and maybe, just maybe, apply it to their own experience. If not, although I appear in the minority, let George and Brenda have a fling, let George die with a lifetime of regrets as his legacy —- I’m sure you’ll do a good job making it a great story. Always have.

  • Jen - 3 years ago

I feel so connected to these characters and to see the (for now) potential fall for George, Sr. caused a strong emotional response in my house! It underscores the wonderful writing and care taken in developing these characters. Sheldon is my least favorite only because there is such depth and realness provided by the whole cast. Such a great show!

  • Rhonda G Utt - 3 years ago

I know how George was portrayed in BBT. However, the George in Young Sheldon has been such a positive role model, I hate to see that go. I really hope you can find some way to keep it that way. Perhaps the skewed version that adult Sheldon had of his father was influenced by the fact EVERYTHING is supposed to be about him.
The relationships between the siblings is so entertaining and real. How George and Mary deal with it all is true. YS is thought provoking on many of the lessons learned by the Cooper family. George may struggle, but let him continue to be the good guy, there for his family, until that heart attack kills him!

  • Linda - 3 years ago

I think that George doesn't have an affair. I think he realizes his family is more important. I personally been there. George is oveeweighr, stressed out and drinks too much do it wouldn't be unrealistic for him to have a heart attack

  • Billie L Seatz - 3 years ago

YS should not follow BBT claim. I think there are several scenarios compatible with both and leave YS family intact. Breaking up the family is death knell for the show by falling into the trap of degenerate shows undermining all other channels. YS s alone in it's grace and appeal to all ages. That is why YS is so popular and enduring. I like broadcast TV and watch a lot of Weather Channel as the only thing left. Help us out here. And, yes Georgie as an entrepreneur is always good. Missy needs more activities with Sheldon's reactions. Chemistry between them is good.

  • Debra carmon - 3 years ago

Young Sheldon is one of my favorite shows.I watch it with my granddaughter. If I goes down a road of infidelity ,I'm sure we won't watch it any longer. It sure doesn't seem to fit George's character. So very shocked and disappointed in the writers. Please reconsider, for your viewers.

  • Jack Jackson - 3 years ago

George, Sr has good moral values. When the show returns, I think we will see him finish the game of pool at the bar, say goodnight, and go home to his family. I wonder more about the future of Georgie, Jr. He was not featured much this whole season. In the past, there were a couple episodes that revolved around him. Will the lack of screen time make him leave the show for bigger roles, now that he is 18 in real life?

  • Patricia - 3 years ago

I used to like Young Sheldon. George St is a wonderful character. Just because BBT made him bad and killed him off doesn't mean YS has to follow suit. BBT is done but YS could go on for years. With a broken family, it will be too sad for me to watch. You go there and I'm done. From other comments left here, looks like I'm not the only one! It's not too late. Fix it!

  • Linda Madara - 3 years ago

George Sr is one of the reasons I watch Young Sheldon. His current behavior is a big let down to me.
Annie Potts certainly a huge draw for me. I love everything she does!!
Honestly, the kid , Sheldon, is a p.i.a. necessary character , but don't like him. I feel sorry for his siblings who are nicer people. In my opinion, Sheldon's a brat.
I'll continue to watch..gotta see what happens!

I hate the fact that George senior is going to cheat on Mary. I wish the show could be different in that respect. But I enjoy the show anyway and am looking forward to seeing how it all plays out.

Also, I love the cast! They chose just the right people to play all the parts. I hope it stays for quite a while. I don't know if it'll have 12 seasons like Big Bang did, but however many it ends up with will be a wonderful experience either way.

  • Butch - 3 years ago

I don't think George & Brenda will happen.

Also, has anyone noticed while most 1/2 hour shows are approximately 21 minutes in length, (minus commercials of course) young Sheldon clocks in at just over 18 minutes, & this season finale clocked in at just 17:46.

Also, a mere 18 episodes, not the "standard' 23???

They really are screwing the pooch with commercials & not giving us consumers a "half hour" show at all.

  • Phyllis - 3 years ago

George is wonderful. I want the show to keep him ALIVE.

  • Shawnnee Holmes - 3 years ago

Never watched Big Bang. Hate what you’re doing to this show. Personally think George is the funniest one on the show. Don’t see why this show can’t stand alone instead of following Big Bang, a show that isn’t on anymore.

  • Judi Akiyoshi - 3 years ago

I love Young Sheldon for the sweet family comedy its been for the last four seasons. It’s the family life that a lot if us didn’t have - a set of two parents, siblings in the home, a grandparent to love and be loved back. The season finale was disturbing bringing back life as a lot of us knew it and to know what is coming in the next season’s storyline is heartbreaking. I loved this family storyline and to see it torn apart - I can’t watch your show any longer.

Not a good Idea ...I really like Mary an George ...but don't let George an there neighbor she bickers with Brenda .. don't let them hook up ...I love this show !!

  • JOYCE KORALIK - 3 years ago

I do not like the turn they are taking at all. I truly enjoy the father on the show. This is a comedy but this twist is not funny or enjoyable. I know they are trying to follow the storyline of Big Bang but after all this is all fiction. The storyline can be altered or just ignored. The writers are taking this far too literally and in the process they are ruining the show. If the proceed with this painful storyline I don't think I will continue to watch. There is already enough pain in the real world right now. I always look forward to watching Young Sheldon because it makes me smile. This is no longer making me smile. If a comedy is no longer funny what's the point?

  • Maxwell - 3 years ago

Good show. Bout time George gets something other than a boatload of BS! Missy reminded me of younger sister.

  • KIRK Putnam - 3 years ago

I hate the idea of this happening to George, he is the only sane one beside missy .i think I will lose interest if he's not around. However I might stay to watch Missy grow up.
I'm probably one in a million but I only watched one show of the BIG BANG so I hate that they are separating,he plays a good DAD and we need more of those.

  • Gary Smith - 3 years ago

Great way to end a season....lots of cliffhangers to work with. The characters are well placed in this great show. Hope it keeps everyone's interest in the future.

  • Violet Faye Williams - 3 years ago

One comment is correct it was a sad drama not a comedy and this popped up out of nowhere...so unexpected. The show will not be the same without him. I may not be watching this next season. How can it even be a comedy. He always loved his family thus far until last night and now he's going to cheat on his wife...give me a break.

  • Kathy muccio - 3 years ago

Don't kill George off the show needs him.TV shows are constantly changing things around especially in sequels,we all know Adult Sheldon always sees things completely differently than everyone else.Big Bang is off the air,you don't have to absolutely follow their storyline let the show stand on its own.It doesn't have to be a carbon copy.People started watching the show because of The Big Bang we watch Young Sheldon now because we like the show for itself. If you kill George off you will lose a lot of viewers .

  • John Buckler - 3 years ago

It was better than mom's...people should start boycott all the shows..if there going to end them like mom!

  • Janice Coiner - 3 years ago

I love, love, Young Sheldon.it's one of 3 decent shows I watch each week. Its so refreshing to see a civilized family with a mother, father, kids, and Memaw. However the finale left me with a bad taste in my mouth.George left mad and went to cool off.The nasty neighbor lady saw an advantage and made her move on him knowing he is a family man. Please don't let George have an affair. He can tell the neighbor lady he enjoyed her conversation and company at a time when he needed someone to listen. But stop there.Let him draw the line that he is fully committed to his marriage vows to his wife and will not break them.Mary needs to lay off pushing religion on them all. They know where she stands without her berating them in a battle.Sheldon and Missy have a love/hate relationship cause their siblings. They will work it out.Georgie seemed the only sane one last night!Mary can cry to Memaw if she wants.Memaw has a lot of wisdom and has been there for each of them in one way or another.Producers please keep this family together.Let them struggle to find their happiness.Ultimately they will.Like I said this is one of 3 shows on TV I enjoy watching.Theres no killing, murder, drugs, thieving, devil worship,or hate on Young Sheldon.Tread lightly on the events of the new season.

  • Florence V Taylor - 3 years ago

I don't think they should kill George nor have him. involved in a sexual relationship with the neighbor. Young Sheldon is one of the better shows. I feel they need to go in another.direction Too much divorce keep it the way it is. Develop memaw, and the professor relationship, show little George in a better sight. I will stop watching the show if George leaves his wife or dies. That is my opinion.Kids need to see shows that display families staying.together. kids don't believe in marriage.

  • Michael Slaughter - 3 years ago

We are heavily committed to the show and its writing. We always find something to laugh about each week— except last week. As a family law attorney, I found nothing funny about the beginning of the destruction of the family presented in that show. I know there is tragedy ahead for them, but lets hold that off until after the show ends, some time in the future and celebrate the family now, not the end of it

  • George Johnson - 3 years ago

Just saying if you continue with George's death, I am certain it will end the shows interest to a vast majority of viewers who will stop watching! I certainly will find other things to watch in that slot.

  • Janice - 3 years ago

This episode was a drama not comedy. I didn't enjoy it at all.

  • Terry Campbell - 3 years ago

George has done nothing but supportive to his family. He takes all the blame for everythi ng. Missy is the only one who actually showed any interest in her dad. He felt like a fsilure. That would put stress on anybody. I'm glad he stood up to Mary.

  • Theresa Dennison - 3 years ago

I love when characters evolve, for better or worse it's a journey into character development that is a welcome surprise. The evolution of the entire Cooper family is well constructed and acted. Bravo to your entire team, production, writing and acting....I'm hooked!!!

  • Brian - 3 years ago

No one is perfect we just try to do our very best and people do fail at relationships all the time, but maybe if George senior grew set before they got married this probably would never have happened

  • LINDA BARNETT - 3 years ago

I like George Sr and really appreciated the way he treated his children. Mary is not a favorite of mine. She went way overboard on the religion part (trying to make up for her teen years?) I don't like the way the show is going. I like George. He is a good father and tries to do right by his wife. He had to give up alot of dreams and a great job because of Mary. I'm not sure I will continue to watch young Sheldon in the future because of the way the show is going. If I had to give up a character it would be Mary.

  • Lylia - 3 years ago

I have always liked George senior. So sad to see this happen. I hoped the memories Sheldon had were somehow exaggerated by the childhood perspective. In some ways it's kind of spoiled things even though it was predicted in TBBT.

  • Angie Hughey - 3 years ago

When Brenda separated from her husband, I wondered if she was the woman George would have an affair with. They have known each other for awhile, and neighbors and both seem miserable. If you go with the way Big Bang was written, one knew George was going to have an affair. Hate to see a comedy go that way, but there is NO WAY Sheldon's memories are wrong. He has too good of a memory for childhood memory to be wrong on such a traumatic event.

  • Wanda Mayes - 3 years ago

It's like this I thought Young Sheldon was EXCELLENT last night!. No DON'T Kill Off George Sr. That would be a bit much right now. I watch most of the shows that are on Thursday except for Clarice that show is just stupid.

  • David Richards - 3 years ago

Real fans of Big Bang knew it was coming. The question was when. Thought it was an excellent episode. I like the writing. It shows the formulitive years of the characters we’ve grown to know through Big Bang.

  • John - 3 years ago

This is a comedy show right? My wife and I loved the Big Bang and we’re enjoying Young Sheldon, but come on really the next door neighbor cliché. I thought Chuck Lorre would have more imagination than that. And why even go there, even though adult Sheldon references his youth doesn’t mean you have to follow it it’s his interpretation of his child hood.

  • Virginia L Lohr - 3 years ago

It's real / life has a way of throwing curves and the pool analogy was perfect / lets not kid ourselves / if not for the unexpected pain in our lives the joyful moments would not be so sweet / great finale/ look forward to next season with anticipation

  • Rita - 3 years ago

I love this show but the finale was awful. There is no reason to have George in an affair with the neighbor. Some people never watched The Big Bang Theory
(I’m one of them) so never knew of older Sheldon’s memories. Young Sheldon is a nice family show so writers and producers, please keep it that way or you will loose some of your audience.

  • LuAnn - 3 years ago

Please don't have George sleep with the neighbor. I loved George being the family man. Have the Mother ease up on her husband and kids.

  • Vicki Robinson - 3 years ago

I like the show WITH George being a great husband and father. No reason to turn him into a bad husband and father. If you must blend it with Sheldon's memory of his dad, let Sheldon's MEMORY be wrong, or at least a little skewed. No one says it has to be exact. I'd rather George not be made to be a bad guy.

  • Belinda P Quinton - 3 years ago

The show is great. I hate this but this is Sheldens story of his formative yrs. It is a old saying which I find to be true " into each life some rain must fall.

  • Tiger Cole - 3 years ago

I watched all of Big bang but had hoped for a more family driven show without drinking, bad words or even family anger. Someone is always mad at someone. Can't we have one loving supportive family centered show to watch? Guess not!

  • Lynn Timon - 3 years ago

There are MAYBE 9 mins of an actual show because of sooo many commercials!! Barely enough time for me to hate the uptight sanctimonious Mary!! Ugh.

  • Dee - 3 years ago

Kill George already. He’s a most unlivable character already and if he’s gonna have an affair don’t make us suffer though it just kill him. It’s supposed to be a comedy and family show so let’s get back to the funny!!

  • Helen - 3 years ago

I enjoy this show especially the family aspect of it
I wish it would not go down this road
Families need their fathers and George is a good example
Let us keep George a little while longer. He is needed.

  • Helen - 3 years ago

  • Mkay - 3 years ago

I'm not ready to lose George yet! He brings a lot of humor to the show!

  • Shelly Thomas - 3 years ago

I absolutely love this show. The finale was a nice soft turn. Georgie is growing up. I love, in todays times, that it takes me back to my own childhood. It is not, in anyway, on today's topics. There is no room for it, but a great escape of wonderful childhood memories and a few simple times. TV is supposed to give you a few small moments to forget the day, and the stress of what is going on around you. This show does that. It didn't need to be a huge cliff hanger. The story is told. You can follow it on Big Bang. He is filling in the holes of an already mildly told story. Giving you insight and a great trip down memory lane. The 90s should be fun!!

  • Ronnie Hornaday - 3 years ago

This was a good episode. But as a season finale, I think it was very weak. Not sure how to explain it, but there needed to be more with the other characters. Change for the sake of change, really.

  • Mike CPI - 3 years ago

With a three season renewal, hopefully there will be plenty of time to "break the fall" in a way that will keep the series' current overall tone.

  • Jeff stewart - 3 years ago

It’s about time George was able to break free.
