I have loved Mark Harmon since day one! I will be sad without him on the show and may not be interested in the show anymore. I almost quit watching when Ziva left then Tony but Gibbs is my man for sure.

This whole season was a mess from the 1st episode to the very disappointing finale. They actually started to screw Gibb's character last season, writing his dialogue ,motivations & such way off, then the beating crap, pretty much removing his characters cred, respect, etc. With everyone who has left & even though Diona( Casey) won me over eventually & I love the character Tim,his acting & character is a bit lackluster, most of them are.I really only watched it still for the occasional Gibbs scenes. Mark Harmon fully carried the show, HE has presence, no one else left can carry the show, period !
While I liked all the shows, the original & New Orleans are my faves, mostly because of the 2 main leads, they ea WERE their shows. Are the show runners memories so short they've forgotten WHY they brought back Harmon(Gibbs) in the 1st place? Ummm, the ratings tanked without him.
The network was crazy to end NCIS -New Orleans ,destroy the original NCIS this season, yet somehow renew it ,keep LA which is lackluster at best & now add the upcoming NCIS Hawaii, without even a few crossovers ( like they did with the others) to get viewers interested..what is the network thinking ???
P.S...as a comment to an earlier post about the Gibbs/boat thing...No,there's no rolling door or anything like that in his cellar,on one episode(?,sorry, don't remember which) Abby checked for things like that & was totally stumped HOW Gibbs could ever take the boats out intact. It's just a running joke I hope we'll never know the answer to,esp since with the writing having gone to crap last cpl years,I think their "answer" might disappoint us all *snicker* IMO it's better to leave it a mystery & part of the larger than life Leroy Jethro Gibbs mystique :)

Dang Emily, I really hate to see you leave the show, it’s as bad as when Abby left. I was really hoping to see you and Katrina Law would be on the together. I’m really sad to good bye to such a beautiful intelligent actress

  • Amber Matukonis - 3 years ago

So... I was surprised with Bishop leaving the show. The writers have done this slow burn/build up between Bishop and Torres. For the LOVE they had "the talk" last week! Then the very next episode she's leaving? Terrible storyline! Terrible!
Plus... Why are all these women leaving the show? What the heck is going on with that? Cait, Abby, Ziva, Jack, Jenny, Alex, Gibb's ex wife and his God Daughter... Why do the women keep JUMPING SHIP?

  • Claudia Mallen - 3 years ago

I didn’t like pam dawber’s role. I felt like she was over acting her role. I liked emily a lot. Pride’s real wife in ncis new Orleans did great. Gibb’s real wife in ncis not so much. Sad that you hot rid od New Orleans ncis.

NCIS is my favorite binge watch TV program. I have watched it from day one over 3 times. Change is never easy. Even Tony when he left, I thought something had to happen with his character. He couldn't stay acting like a kid until he was 40. Missed everyone when they left with a couple of exceptions in female roles. As I understand it Mark Hammond wants Gibbs' character to be like Ducky, part time in some capacity. What's this crap about it being confusing. It's a mystery! Way back when she met Ziva there was an hint Bishop would be taking on a new role with Ziva's friend. If Gibbs works part time I'll continue to watch and see how they bring all this together. I wouldn't be too surprised to see a woman take the lead. That seems to be were all programming is going these days. Good luck and blessings to the writers.

    I love n.c
I.s.it is the only show i really watch. I loved ellie, i don't care for the dark haired lady they put on recently. She seem harsh and uncaring. I was sort of glad when Jack left, she was all about herself. Of sort if Mark Hamill leaving not sure if i will be a fan. I hope they bring Gibbs and Ellie back.

  • Thomas Howell - 3 years ago

I've watched every episode since #1. This season was the most frustrating and confusing of all. This next season hopefully will be better..or I'll be gone as well.

  • Edwina Ekstrom - 3 years ago

I won't miss Emily Wickersham at all. I have always found her completely unbelievable as an NCIS agent and I would never want her to have my back. In the very beginning of her tenure she was mildly interesting with her unusual work style, where she would spread everything out on the floor and look for patterns but the writers took that away from her pretty quickly. And to have replaced the wonderful dangerous Ziva with this little piece of fluff was always inconceivable to me.

Havent heard anything about moving NCIS from Tuesday nights.....and wth with this finale!? I like happy endings! Didnt really care for this one....they are losing too many characters....when Mark goes, I go.....jus sayin....(at least he did swim away)....

  • Linda S - 3 years ago

So the ending of this season of NCIS leaves viewers with an emptiness. Emily's character leaving was too abrupt, just like Jackie leaving the show by staying in Afghanistan was too abrupt. Then Gibbs boat is blown up. Yikes, at least we see him swim away. Since Gibbs hasn't been at NCIS, the shows have felt off and so does the story line for the next season opener.
Know what had a great story line going? NCIS New Orleans! Ending that show was a HUGE mistake.

  • John - 3 years ago

Been a fan from day 1. Loved Emily's character. Hope she makes some guest appearances.
Can hardly wait to see what Jethro has up his sleeve this time!

  • Dave - 3 years ago

Been watching all these years from Lauren Holly, NiNozzo, Ziva,Cate and many many others. But the last episode Tuesday was convoluted with Gibbs and Pam chasing a serial killer with no law credentials, and then the absurd to us regular viewers when we see him painting Rule 91 on a boat in his basement and then out on the water and getting blown up.
C’mon my B let’s get back to the good basics of NCIS and bring us devoted viewers good shows that are beleavable.

Season 19 will not be televised on Wednesday’s as has been stated here. It will be 9pm on Mondays.

  • George mendez - 3 years ago

It was sad that they resorted to copying the finale of Jason Bourne. What a disappointment.

  • Richard Wieland - 3 years ago

Moving to Wednesday? NOPE, I LOVE NCIS BUT, with all the GREAT FEMALES LEAVING!!!! I'LL BE STAYING WITH MY CHICAGO SHOWS!!!!!!

  • Cheryl - 3 years ago

Didn’t care for this episode at all, especially given that it was the season finale. I was confused most of the time; seems like transition from previous episode(s) was lacking. Have never been a Bishop fan so won’t miss her. I think reducing Gibbs’ role/changing time slot is a mistake. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. IMO none of the other males in the cast are strong enough to be the “leader” of the series.

  • SeattleGent - 3 years ago

I have not missed a show since the beginning and it’s always difficult to see such a main character leave the cast. This one in particular is rough. One can only hope that Emily will be a part of a great new spinoff series. It’s about time to have a female lead character in this génère come to the forefront.

  • Amy - 3 years ago

I have enjoyed watching Jethro and gang from season one!
After the boat exploded and seeing Gibbs in the water face down, I "presumed" he was dead after hearing rumors Mark Harmon may be leaving. I have to admit, I did have a tear in my eye, however I was glad to see him swim away. Gibbs, please don't leave!!! You definitely make the whole show!
I look forward to watching NCIS weekly.

  • Jim Meloche - 3 years ago

She's leaving? Still waiting for her to look like she fits in.

  • Elaine A. - 3 years ago

I Have enjoyed NCIS for many years. It had some violence, but not too much like some shows.
Hate to see Bishop leave; can't you talk her into staying? If too many leave, the show might
as well as leave too. Hope that doesn't happen.
BY the way, how did the boat get out of the basement - took out the walls?

  • Kat - 3 years ago

Season finale was good but why does Gibbs/Harmon have to steal the show.with another explosion he appears to survive. He is not Superman. Why doesn't he just produce and get off the stage. His quirks don't fly anymore. I am sorry to see Emily leave but I've been expecting it for a long time. She is outstanding and I hope to see her in movies.

  • JOHN H WELLS - 3 years ago

! WHOA ON TWO THINGS WHAT THE HELL BISHOP AN EX - CIA INSTRUCTOR FORMER NSA NOW DISGRACED NCIS. THEN GIBBS NEW BOAT GOES BOOM OUT ON THE WATER THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE THE 2ND PART I FIGURED OUT THE S. KILLER TAMPERED WITH THE BOAT BUT BISHOP'S SECRETS I KINDA FUZZY ON SHE WAS NSA 10 YEARS AGO ODETTE PLANTED THOSE FILES BUT STILL BLURRY ON BISHOP'S LARA CROFT MOVES AND LUCKY NO MISS SHOTS

  • Shannon Marble - 3 years ago

CBS has cancelled alot of great shows this year. Most all female leads. Like, Tommy who represented our diversity in every way. All rise female leads, NCIS:new Orleans (all 3 shows have gay characters, hm...) Mom, all female cast and still had a couple good years of stories left. No one I know is interested in NCIS: Hawaii. Ending new Orleans was a huge mistake. Maybe these shows could go to a streaming service. I am so disappointed in CBS. They say it is ratings but they kept shows that had lower ratings on. SMDH. And put these half hour 1 season shows on is stupid. I don't see know who took over CBS but they need to go and start listening to the people.

  • Gerald J Arnone - 3 years ago

I was taken aback by the boat exploding and then Gibbs swimming away. So who messed with the boat and with Bishop leaving who will replace her? I really like Bishop and hope they get a really great replacement.
If CBS is moving the show to Wednesday why not leave it at 8pm? I would rather see NCIS than NCIS:HAWAii at 9pm. I never watch reality TV so get rid of Tough as Nails. Oh I watch the NBC Chicago shows so I will be recording NCIS which I have not done.

  • Karren Pell - 3 years ago

You'd think he'd know if there was a bomb on that boat

  • Sheryl - 3 years ago

Bring back jamie Lee Curtis for the final relationship with Gibbs. They had real chemistry!

  • Patty Mathews - 3 years ago

I REALLY LOOKED FORWARD TO EACH NCIS EVERY WEEK AND I WAS DEVASTATED WHEN GIBB’S BOAT BLEW UP!
I REALLY DO NOT WANT ANY OF THE NCIS ‘S TO BE TAKEN OFF AND ADD TO THE LOCATIONS!

  • Denise Vollmar - 3 years ago

Hating to think that next season is probably the end of NCIS. Have always wanted Bishop & Torres to get together, now find out she's out. At least there was a goodbye kiss. Wanted the same for Gibbs & Maria Bello. TV is too fickle.

  • valerie bradshaw - 3 years ago

IF Gibbs leaves NCIS, I am afraid we will not watch anymore. As senior citizens, we love Gibbs and feel he is the strength and backbone of NCIS. without him, it becomes just another modern day okay drama. no offense to the other stars, but none have the gravitas of Gibbs.

  • Arlene - 3 years ago

As usual, an excellent finale. Unfortunalely, as a senior citizen who has a hard time staying up until 9 P.M., I might not be able to watch next year due to CBS's questionable decision to air it at this later time. Too bad. This was my favorite television program which I am really going to miss. Since this next year will probably be NCIS's last, how about making an old lady very happy by keeping it at 8 P.M.

  • Beverly - 3 years ago

I did not see him swimming off and a view from underneath his floating body. Either I blinked at the wrong second of time or it got cut off by commercial?!?!

  • Harriett Kane - 3 years ago

I read that the move to Monday is to bring in NCIS Hawaii. Tuesdays will be all FBI. Wednesday will be the 3 Chicago shows. And, Thursday will be Law and Order night.

  • Harriett Kane - 3 years ago

I think Katrina Law is the new female replacement. Why are all the girls leaving? Rumors flew when Pauly P. left blaming Mark Harmen. I don't know why Maria Bello( Jack) left. Now Ellie. WTH.

  • Elizabeth Thompson - 3 years ago

All in all, it would have been a way worse ending if we hadn't known that Mark Harmon was leaving. Either he rode off into the sunset, and died quickly, in an explosion, or (as it happens) he swims off to safety. (And he was swimming just fine, - they better not try to slide in another actor under bandages.)

  • Elizabeth Thompson - 3 years ago

Don't think I've ever seen details of the outside of Gibbs' house, just assumed the basement was originally intended as a below ground garage, with a roll-up door. The boat is built right-side-up, all you have to do is roll u[ the door, back the trailer in, use pulleys and a winch to slide the boat on, and drive it, with the pickup truck, away.
Remember, he's built boats down there before.

  • P Holt - 3 years ago

    WHAT THE HELL???

  • Ann Knowles - 3 years ago

Honestly, I’ve never cared for Bishop. Her character has always been pretty weak. Katrina Law is a much more dynamic, self assured character. I would miss Gibbs and the show would be missing it’s core without him.

  • Paul G - 3 years ago

Katrina Law should be added to the cast. She would be a great addition

  • Teri Niessner - 3 years ago

How did he get that boat out of the basement?????

  • Renee - 3 years ago

I've been watching this show 4 yrs & I'm sry Gibbs makes the show! Finally Bishop & Torres gets 2gether! Looking overdue

  • James Cusano - 3 years ago

I think the show is finished after next season. First they are moving it out of its Tuesday lead off spot. Second Harmon is only going to be in a few shows. I think they are only ordering a limited number of episodes. I hope I’m wrong. Nice move in taking a page out of Jason Bourne movies at the end. Was waiting to hear the Bourne theme as Gibbs swam away.
