I actually misgendered a non binary person and called them a girl. They corrected me, I apologized and I apology was accepted. I definitely think most people understand intent and respond accordingly unless they were looking for an argument.

I want to jokingly say “no, I only use Proper nouns”, but this only works if you hear it in snooty rich guy voice.

I wasn't even aware of the whole pronouns thing until Tea w/Queen & J podcast enlightened me. I still have a bad habit of calling any female presenting person a lady, but mostly out of laziness and a desire to communicate using the least amount of words as possible lol. It's easier to say hey ladies instead of everyone's individual names and I don't want to sound too country and say y'all.
