with strikeouts on pace to break the record, again, the mariners are no exception. runs per game is down, since 2015. injuries nag some of the better players and people who have been paid like stars, aren't producing. kikuchi waited til the last year of his contract (barring the extension) to finally start pitching well. resist the urge of stupidity to sign that extension, let some other team get nothing until his contract year. seager, in the last year of his contract, BYE, is hitting around .215, MENDOZA LINE! only three guys hitting over .250! are we finally done with cano's albatross contract? is that money off the books?

the only things they have going for them is all the pitching talent in the pipeline (logan gilbert already making an impact) and the fact that at least 40% of this years salary/payroll will be freed up for next year.
please spend it well, on proven hitters that can hit at home AND on the road (not one or the other), or the m's will end up as another cheap team with dwindling attendance, maybe even another $100 million payroll and 100+ losses like they did some years ago.

this team/franchise needs to become relevant again. i love baseball, but hate the way this team has been run. an entire generation knows this team only for it's failures and we're already into the following generation. how long is futility tolerated? don't ask casuals, cuz they don't really care or know enough to make an informed opinion.
it still makes me furious that the organization didn't work hard enough and sacrifice enough to get shohei ohtani. look at him now!!!! front office idiots! baka gaijin!
