The new set and format is a disaster, very distracting, looks like the camera man cannot focus correctly, the set looks cheap, the garden wall is ugly, the Knick knack shelf is a mess and keeps drawing your eye away from Trevor, he also needs to go back to wearing a suit, he was always so well dressed, the casual look does not work. Go back to the old format, studio, wardrobe etc.. stop trying to fix what was not broken. What a mess.

I miss the old format with the audience in attendance. I think the banter with other comedians is sometimes entertaining and sometimes not. I love Trevor, but I think the audience adds an energetic dynamic to the show. And truly, I think Trevor was very handsome in his suit. How about suits and a casual Thursday show?

The new format is awful. Why? The show now takes itself too seriously. I watch late shows with great humor. The banter is a distraction. I might as well watch the View. I muted the banter now, but soon will just quit.

Please go back to doing the hard stuff of great jokes.

What makes Colbert so great? 15 minutes of dense fantastic humor. Ditto old Jon Stewart or old Trevor.

    Stop this stupidity.

I'm not so happy with the new format. Having the sidekicks interrupt his monologue in lieu of a live audience is distracting and just awful. I wish he would broadcast from his apartment again.

I loved the Dailey Show but now it’s not what it was even in the apartment. I don’t like the talking to someone we can’t see at the beginning. Also I want to know what the green wall represents.

Really needs some audience. Without loking like upscale podcast

Sorry Trevor the new show is a big disappointment. It’s not funny, lackluster and boring without an audience. Whoever thought this was a good idea is sadly mistaken. You’re going to loose an audience without some major changes. Also why an hour…the timing seems slow and too long! Tough love….

I love the daily show for years with both Jon and Trevor. Trevor helped me through the pandemic. Now here’s the but. The new set and format has cut the heart out of the show. The set looks like they bought it at goodwill and the lighting engineer needs to pay the electrical bill. It awful! He needs an audience to get some oxygen back in the studio. Please correct it. I won’t be able to watch much more it too depressing.

Cold set and low energy. I will keep watching bcuz I love Trevor Noah but I am very disappointed.

I really love Trevor’s perspective on the big issues but I miss his quick wit and humor in this new format. The pop up graphics and new wizardry detract from his delivery! And I also find the new set a bit cold. Don’t mind the casual attire. Men shouldn’t have to be so limited in their choices. I’ll still watch, but I think he’s better with an audience.

So sure seems to be falling flat. What a shame since I loved the old show with the audience and Trevor's sharp wit and banter. Plus he just looks kind of depressed and sad. Let's put on a suit get that audience back and sharpen up that wit. It was such a good show before. I don't understand if Stephen Colbert and others have live audiences why Trevor does not. I think he truly needs it to be at his best. Wishing him luck and love but I don't think I'll be watching for a while.

I'm sorry but it just falls flat without a live audience it doesn't work for me go back home the production was better why have a show without an audience

New set is bland and cold. No studio audience, no excitement. I live the show but it has seen much better days.

  • Jessica - 3 years ago

I miss the live studio audience. It was nice to see Trevor again and I liked seeing some 1:1 segments in person, but I was really hoping that with the other late night shows and Broadway bringing back their audiences, The Daily Show would also follow suit.

I love Trevor Noah but this was a big disappointment. Where's the audience and the energy?!

  • Terri Tyree - 3 years ago

Audience. I miss the audience and Trevor's interaction with them. Still, the Daily Show is always awesome.

  • Amy - 3 years ago

Oh this was such a bummer!

I was hoping for the daily show with studio audience and yhe same energy as before.
It looks just like the social distancing show except now it is in another studio.

For all the press, the show came back looking pretty much the way it was when it went on hiatus. Without the audience the show lacked energy and the pace seemed slow. Having some "Daily Show" is better than having no "Daily Show", but this is a far cry from a full return. They need to take a tip from John Oliver, who came back with an audience and greatly increased energy.
