Retired in San Diego in 2003, still here. Thought about moving elsewhere to get away from California's taxes and insane politics but as I can still afford to live here comfortably and can afford to travel whenever I like inertia has taken over. At age 74 I don't want to deal wth the hassles of relocating - not to mention the horrendous capital gains tax bite I would incur on the house I bought in 1992. So for now I enjoy the positives of California's natural environment. And ignore the politics as much as I safely can.
When we first moved here ( Wesley Chapel Fl ) it was relatively new and manageable. The over development of the area has us considering a move elsewhere. Traffic is ridiculous !
