New York City is likely to start allowing legally-documented non-citizens to vote in municipal elections (not state or federal). Thoughts?
I support this — only lawful, permanent residents of the city would be allowed to vote, and they should have a say in how their city is run, whether they're a citizen or no.
I don't support this — only U.S. citizens should be allowed to vote in any election. Otherwise, it devalues what it means to be an American.
I'm on the fence — I think some non-citizens, like Dreamers (who had no say in whether they same to the U.S.) should be able to vote in local elections, but other non-citizens shouldn't.
This is not an issue I care about.
