Same PCP I've used for decades. They use eCW and I've been active on their patient portal since it was introduced. The first thing they do after checking me in? Hand me a clipboard and ask me to handwrite everything they could have seen in the portal. What. Exactly. Are. We. Doing. Here? Soooo frustrating.

I've previously been diagnosed with diverticulitis, and during a recent incident with the ailment I called my PCP only to find out he was gone, perhaps for a month but the staff was not sure. So they recommended that I see Urgent Care, which of course Urgent Care was not equipped for a proper diagnosis, so it was Urgent Care and then straight to the ER.

Yes, my insurance company still wants to charge me my out of pocket for both an Urgent Care visit and an ER visit, of course all of that would have been totally avoidable had my primary been accessible.

I still don't know why he was out for so long, or why the staff couldn't assign me another physician.
