What are your thoughts on the texts Virginia Thomas (Justice Clarence Thomas' wife) sent to the Trump White House and the fallout?
There is no controversy here — Ginni has the right to free speech, and what she says/believes has no bearing on Justice Thomas' ability to do his job.
I'm alarmed by the texts, since they show that a very influential person in right-wing politics, let alone the wife of a SCOTUS judge, believes in some crazy things. It does make me question her husband's objectivity.
I think Justice Thomas should at the very least recuse himself from any cases relating to the 2020 election or issues his wife is heavily involved in. That would help restore faith in the Supreme Court.
Justice Thomas has already crossed the line by opining on cases he should have recused himself from. He should leave the bench or be impeached.
What texts? I know nothing about this/don't care/aren't there more important issues to discuss?
