I lived through the 80s and this was not as easy as this show made it seem. It was much scarier for people of that community to even admit that. Without getting ridiculed chastised called all sorts of names, beat up, spit on, AND not to mention people stopped talking to you. Plus everyone always says g@y or g@lord or F@g. They need to present the past more correctly.
