In addition to healthcare being too complex to disrupt it is also has a backwards system of rewards. There is little to no money in keeping people healthy it there is a gold mine in treating sick people and those who develop preventable conditions (e.g. diabetes).
I would argue the lack of a self-insured employer market opportunity is part of the healthcare complexity reality.

All of the above!
Certainly, One Medical gives them the opportunity to refocus their efforts from one failing venture into another. I'm a little surprised that they didn't attempt to combine the two services. The fact that they didn't could indicate how poorly received Amazon Care was, or how incompatible it was with One Medical.

If Amazon realized healthcare is too complex to disrupt, why did they buy One Medical, a company claiming to disrupt primary care? Providing urgent care telehealth and low acuity home visits to employers has no margin, therefore it’s an unsuccessful business model without something else to support it. That’s not a complex idea.
