It is a legal way to buy votes. Political crooks can always find a nice cover for their ugly move. Biden is imbecile and Trump is lawless. Both squat on public interests, just in different ways.

They are telling us social security will run out and only be able to pay a portion by 2035. this is something people have been forced to pay into all their lives and the funds were stolen. That should have been paid back before any such student loan forgiveness on tax payer money. Social Security is the welfare of our elders who built this country and raised those kids getting free rides but they cannot guarantee a security social security to those who earned it.

There are many of us who chose not to go into debt. This was our choice but also left them with a disadvange in the marketplace next to college graduates. Now those who chose to go in debt still have the advantage and we are paying for their advantage over others. The only way this would be fair is if everyone within the tax bracket ranges could go back to school on grants up to $10,000. It is very unfair some have the college advantage in the work place and those who don't have that education advantage because they chose not to go in debt have to still compete against government funded educations we are not entitled to go get.

The left in this country trying to guilt anyone not backing this is disgusting. They're so filled with righteous indignation that they fail to acknowledge anyone outside their own perspective or even listen. This is where they fail and why theyre voted out anywhere outside their own coastal indoctrination.

I took out student loans to get through college. And I paid them back. My son took out student loans to get through college. And he paid them back. This action is not at all fair to the millions of students who did the right thing and paid back their loans. It is also not fair to the millions of people who decided not to go to college but will be stuck (or their kids) will be stuck paying off this additional debt. Our politicians have to stop spending money that we, as a country, do not have and will ultimately burden our kids and grandkids with. (BTW, it is not at all comparable at all to the PPP funds that went out to businesses who kept employees on the payroll through the forced COVID lockdowns.)

If I go and do something and it doesn't work out. Why should someone else come bail me out?
I have talked with a lot of folks about this. One person came up with this...
If you signed up to go to college and got loans to pay for the classes, you went to. If you cannot afford to pay the loans back. Why force everyone in our nation to pay for your loans.
Why don't you start a ""Go Fund Me"" to get the people who want to help pay your student loans back. That way only the people who want to help and not the ones being forced in helping to pay your loan back, do it.
I didn't go to college, but I did go to a trade school after being in the Navy. I pay for the tools I needed to do the job I was hired to do. I needed a car or truck, so I bought one.
(Buses don't go near a lot of job work sites when it is all new building that are being built)
The folks that want the nation to take off $10,000 to $20,000 off of your student loans. How about instead.
The nation just sends every single person in our nation a check for $20,000. That way the ones with student loans can pay them off. The people who don't have them can pay off the tools, or car or truck they need to go to work with.
The ones who are not working yet, can use the money to help pay for classes when they do go to college.
That way, every single person will have gotten something from all of the money that will have to be paid back by all of the taxpayers.
Sounds fair to me.

Coming from a family of 6 kids, not one of us went to college due to not having the money.
My older 2 brothers went into the Navy. Likewise, so did I.
I knew that after being in for 4 years, I would have the GI Bill to help pay for college if I wanted to go to one.
If I had gone to college right out of HS, and gotten a degree, I would have had to have loans. I would have had to sign the loan papers. No one else, just my name on the loan papers.
I have heard a lot about how people were kind of pushed into getting their student loans. But every one of those same people could have gone and did the same thing so many other people have done. And that is to join the military and get some hands-on work time doing something that once they get out of the military. They can get a job doing. If they then want to get a college degree, they can go to night school, work in the daytime. And not have to have any Student Loans.
But people want what they want, and they want it now. They want to have the "College Life" experience. Their parents help push them into going to college and they help push them into signing for those student loans.
You want to have someone else pay for these loans that people say they can't pay. Go hit up their parents.
Not the Whole Nation that didn't agree to pay for those loan when the loan papers were signed.

You forget President Trump Filed bankruptcy 6 times and billions of dollars were erased from PPP loans. Funny how the rich can have debt erase and the poor are forced to pay.

I'm 68 our kids were forced to believe the key to the future was to go to collage. but then they were exposed to predatory leaders at collage accredited schools that flat out lied to them about the future income they could make. Schools like ITT institute and some of the medical schools for operating room tech etc. many graduated with a tech degree and could not find a job in their field and if they did they were not paid anything near what they were promised by these corrupt collages. People forget if you get a loan for a house or a car or for almost anything if you lose your job or there is a severe health/medical issue that causes you a severe economical hardship you are allowed to file for a chapter 7 or a chapter13 bankruptcy, in 99% of the time you can not file bankruptcy on student loans and issues with the IRS. Biden did the right thing we have many people entering retirement and still owe a large amount on there student loans. Thank god i'm not one of them. We need to give people a helping hand and not keep them under a heavy economic hardship. I suggest the allowing for filling for bankruptcy or allowing for people to re finance their student loans for a government support 1% interest rate loan with a min % pay back related to there income. The Student loan program is corrupt and is built to help the loan company's to walk away with a ton of money on the backs of people trying to make there lives better.

This is a horrible use of taxpayer dollars and will definitely increase an already 40 year record high inflation. I'm sure the politicians in favor of this type of government relief understand this basic economics principal, they just don't care. This country needs more personal responsibility and accountability.
