I am drawn to stories that make me think, draw conclusions, and examine character motivation, and this miniseries did just that. Terrific acting, kept me guessing, and though I'm really saddened by the ending, I really couldn't see how escape was possible after Sam revealed the truth about his name and background, and especially after killing that man right there in the basement. What surprised me at the end was that I totally expected that Sam would see the new therapist a few times, then do what he did to Dr. Strauss, chain him in his basement to try "therapy" (aka "father figure replacement") again.

This was a great show. Steve Carrel was brilliant as usual. And Domhnall Gleeson was simply amazing. The ending was inevitable and that’s what made the writing so great. They gave you hope and then pulled it away that was very grim. Take the brilliance of these 10 episodes and lock it away. It would be a shame if you thought of bringing back any of these characters for a sequel.

I just finished watching The Patient. This is game changer show, the ending is more true to life and not a normal ending you always expect. I can't express the emotions I feel right now, because it's just a show, and I keep telling myself...it's just a show. I haven't had this kind of emotional reaction to television, well, ever, before! I know it's ending this way, but haven't yet come to grips with that. Very bold on the part of the writers, cast, the whole thing, WOW.
