Grade the Dean Marlowe trade

While I get trying to replenish the draft pick you gave up for Rashad Fenton, it seems as though Dean Marlowe was still a solid rotational piece for an already thin secondary. Marlowe plays safety and I understand that we desperately needed a corner, but I think making the Rashad Fenton deal and still keeping Marlowe would have been ok. Marlowe could have provided us with a depth option at the nickel if Dee Alford continued to struggle with an injury. Plus Isiah Oliver has had an injury history and I believe that Marlowe has the versatility to slide into the nickel if necessary. Not a bad trade, but didn't view it as totally essential. If the roster spot is something to worry about then I would have cut one of the 5 tight ends and signed him back to the practice squad. We got Pitts, Hesse, Franks, Pruitt, and Firkser all on the active roster with rookie TE Fitzpatrick potentially getting activated in the next few weeks so one will have to go anyways. Just an opinion and I can certainly see why Fontentont could see the value in getting a pick for a guy who probably wouldn't have been in a Falcons uniform next season anyways.
