There are certain positions in NFL franchises that can make or break it. HC position is one of these. Sean Payton is a known commodity, whereas, a first round pick has zero history in NFL environment. You always go with proven NFL track record.

I know people want that one pick, but how much would it really do for Denver? Will they not get more picks next year? Even if they drafted a QB, would he realistically replace Russell? A quality coach however, is more important and harder to find, and once attained, can provide services for years to come. Fans in Denver are so sick of losing, they might not be thinking long term... and that could be a big mistake.

In talking with a Benson family member, Mrs. Benson inherited the Saints after the passing of her husband. She has little interest in football. Her passion is racehorses and money. No need to spend first round pick just send MONEY.

If Harbaugh is unavailable, I’d give up the 49er pick which will probably wind up being 26 to 29 to get Payton. He’s a proven winner. However, I would not give up any first round pick next year as well. Perhaps a third in 2024.

The dude turned one of the most laughable franchises into superbowl champions, won seven division championships, and made the playoffs 9 times. Pending the most egregious no call ever… would have been to a second superbowl more than likely. Sure he had Bree’s…. But still. This is not even debatable.

I think it is worth giving up a 1st round pick or even 2, to get the best coach available. #GoBroncos
