I’m not understanding why this is even a question. He has proven that if given the chance he can win.
He has even changed the culture of the team.
Now the question should be who should be our next QB

yes, he has the Team working for him in the right way, needs some help in the secondary that could be helped in the draft. but the coach is on track with a team that believes in theprogram

Definitely keep him. Give him 3 year contract. You don't get rid of assets, Steve Wilkes is Definitely an asset. Give him one off-season to work with GM. Draft another QB and edge rusher. Bring back Darnold. This team can be very different (good) next year or two. Panthers can contend or win the division next year. Otherwise, you start all over again.

when you take a team that hardly knows which way is forward and turn it into a cohesive uinit that wins with about half the personnel that it needs, i would say "heck yeh" he needs the chance for at least a whole year with coaching personnel of his own choosing. he is a leader of men and given the backing that will be needed, i think he will do a great job.

He wasn't my favorite coach in Arizona but he made alot happen with dire situation in Carolina. Maybe he can set things straight next yr

He deserves a chance and I like his coaching style

The most important thing is if the team likes him and apparently they do. I say keep him as HC.

Yes but not a Rhule type contract which was plain stupid. Give him 2-3 years to show what he can do. If he can't produce, invest in a proven coach.

  • Joe Kelly - 1 year ago

Definitely yes, he was screwed in Arizona. He just needs an opportunity to hire his own staff and given enough time to develope his staff and team his way.

He definitely needs a shot at a full year just imagine if he would have took over sooner... We wouldn't even be talking about making playoffs. I truly believe Wilks has took his loses but they wasn't Ls to him they were learning experiences he had to overcome. Wilks is a great coach and if Carolina don't sign him I guarantee someone will.

Hell yeah, hire him! Look at what he did with what he had to work with. 5-6 and should be 6-5 but got robbed in ATL. WTF did people expect for him to go undefeated? After fat boy got fired, did anyone expect to be in the playoff hunt with with 2 games to go? That in itself, should get him the job.
