Stick with Ridder. LJ hasn't proven to be consistent as a passer expect for when he throws to TE's. We already have a solid backfield and in time Desmond will flourish. Let's build a solid defense for once and fill the left guard position and see where we go from there. We got to start learning how to develop the talent we drafted.

The Falcons should not touch Lamar Jackson nor his contract. Stick with Desmond Ridder or go for Justin Fields. Build up that defense. That is what you need.

Lamar Jackson to the Atlanta Falcons want him on my team David and Charlette

Arthur Smith played Mariota for way too long. He should had been gone at least by the midpoint on a supposed rebuilding team. Instead they got greedy, because of the dismal play of the division, wanted to try for a playoff spot with zero chance of winning it all. Thus losing valuable games that Ridder should have started to give the team a better idea of where to go come FA & the draft.

Between having a complete team and betting it all (literally) on one person to save the franchise of l'd like a TEAM! Do just want playoffs and excitement or a legit chance at a chip? This team hasn't had a good defense in well over a decade. QB is the most important position but not at the expense of rest of the roster. Ride with Ridder this year and build the team. If he fails, other options will be there. Fixing defense and reinforcing the trenches will go so much further!

What’s a waste more money. The Falcons getting an elite MVP quarterback in his prime or spending $10,000 on season tickets to see Ridder play? Bring on Lamar please!!! The city needs him!!

I want to see the faces who said no. This is why our organization will never win our fans just as stupid as our coaching staff lmfao . Or it must be cause Lamar black either or BLM!!!

Yes my falcons should get Jackson to get back to winning and possibly the NFC south, bring back a electric fire that once made Atlanta great like the days of Dion/ Vick. Expect the unexpected!!!

Ridder will be fine with the right supporting cast Offensively/ Defensively With Jackson Falcon have to give up too much capital Trent Dilfer won a Superbowl Why not Ridder

  • Nubbyscrub - 3 years ago

With Lamar they will win the South maybe a playoff game, but they won’t be a Superbowl contender

Draft a serious defense for a change!!!!!!!!!!! This is your chance!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Bo Greene - 3 years ago

He is good and I like him as a player. But we need more than a QB

Falcons need to build a team. Going in on LJ and sacrificing all that cap and potential draft talent would be like installing a gigantic, badass swimming pool on your property and then turning around and say, "oh yeah, now I gotta build the house"...but most of your money got shot on the damn pool. Go with DRid and build the damn house first!

Break the bank be aggressive Jackson would be the return of Michael Vick ???? get it done

  • Ronnie D Hall - 3 years ago

We just got out of cap space hell so why would you give one guy 50 million dollars to play one position when it takes a whole team to win in the NFL.Thats why Brady never looked for the biggest contract so he could have great players around him

  • Joseph Leo Smith - 3 years ago

EJ, I agree with you, I'm thinking money based on performance will free up money to get things done on defense.

  • Joseph Leo Smith - 3 years ago

Only if he is willing to take money on the back end. I think this will give the organization a chance to make more money, but I also think the organization should give hive an incentive-based contract but guarantee him a percentage of the contract and make the rest based on stats for reaching certain goals. If they can agree to a percentage that works for him, I say yes, please sign him.

The Falcons need to upgrade their pass rush, defensive backfield, add weapons to their offense, and solidify both their O-line and linebacking. Yes, they have somewhere between $55M and $57M to play with, and potentially more if they cut/trade players or reconfigure contracts.

They need to keep as much draft capital as they can, so that they can do these things with their starters, but also add depth. It's not all about starters. Injuries happen. Draft picks go bust. If you mortgage your future and these types of things happen, you suddenly can't answer the question, "Now what?"
