I never saw the movie, but I watched the premiere. I was very disappointed. The male lead had very little charm. The whole premise seemed very far-fetched. And CBS is obviously pushing this show, since they repeated the pilot on Saturday night and then last night. This series unfortunately reminds me of "Good Sam" which was a medical series focusing on bickering betweene father and daughter. Bottom line for True Lies: I don't care about the characters. Characters are what keep me coming back for NCIS incarnations, the FBIS, Swat, Fire Country and Blue Bloods. CBS does not have a winner here. Too bad for Wednesday nights.
My husband and I agree: boring. No chemistry between the leads. Even the writing was uninspired. Maybe our expectations were too high because the movie was so clever and this paled by comparison. Plus there were too many commercials interrupting the flow. We haven’t decided whether we’ll give it another chance and see if it improves.
I loved the original true lies, and I enjoyed the previews of the new series. I really liked the Premier show. I am sorry that it only lasted 60 minutes, I look forward to next week. Thank you..
Overall a good start to series. I should do well...was a little slow while they introduced characters.
