Should the Colts trade for Lamar Jackson?

He doesn't seem like a team player. A lot of the time he thinks about himself and being in the lime light of thing's. Then there are his numerous injuries the past two year's. I really don't think we need someone like him under center for us.

Just look at this last season, he sat out the last several games.. How hurt was he really? No surgery ? What has rehab looked like? It appeared to me he was sitting out to get paid.. maybe not but it wasn’t a good look..

I agree with Bilbo... He wants what "he" feels that he is worth. The Watson deal is ugly and no one will touch that. Not sure how I feel about it... Colts have wasted talent over the years and paid out a lot of money in guarantees. Just not sure grabbing a #4 this year will cut it. They may have to get a WR, OL or DE at #4 and let Minshew do his thing in hopes they have another 3 or 4 win season for a top pick next year. If Lamar doesn't sign by then, they can consider him for a much better cost.

$130M isn't going to get it done, but it's not far off from a rich person's standpoint... I get the hesitation with injuries, and does he still have what it takes to get a team to a SB (with a supporting cast). He wants what "He" feels that he is worth. I think Indy should offer the #4 + a second (with opportunity for first rounder) and a 5 year $250M deal with half guaranteed overall. Think Patty Mahomes here....

The Colts have been overpaying and wasting talent for far tooooooo long. They need stability at the QB position and a guy that can bring additional talent to Indy. The marketing is weak in Indy, but with a young coach in Steichen, an MVP QB in Lamar and a top tier RB in JT... I think that is going to start stirring the pot a bit. You will absolutely see other high-end talent want to come here. IMO if they do this, they can achieve the 2-3 Super Bowls over a decade.

I’d offer him 3yrs/135m guaranteed and the Ravens next year’s 1st & 3rd in a sign and trade deal.

If that’s not good enough…. then adios…. on to the rookie at #4.

If we were to trade for Lamar Jackson, here are my worries.
    1. He has a fully guaranteed contract, which is a lot considering the Colts would be taking a significant risk if he gets injured.
    2. The draft capital we would give up is a lot, which might set us back long-term if he doesn't work out.

There would be an upside if we did trade for him.
    1. He would work in Shane Steichen's scheme IMO, and if JT stays healthy, opposing defenses may have difficulty containing both of them.
    2. This rebuild the Colts have been on hasn't worked out so far, and adding Lamar Jackson may bring them out of mediocrity very quickly if this trade worked out.

Trade for him he is a improvement that you haven’t had in years? Do you wanna win or do you wanna be the same team with washed up quarterbacks that don’t get you know wear? He will make you must watch team? With a lot of revenue and a playoff team? A former mvp and a heisman trophy winner? I think he would work well with Jonathan Taylor? Go colts

Agent: Hey Lamar, do you want to go to a small market team that isn't considered a contender to win the Super Bowl?

    Lamar: You're trippin' man.

Is Brett Farve still around? I’m sure the Colt’s front office think they could make it work. Wake up Colt’s fans…their front office has turned into the Cleveland Browns.

That's why we will continue to be mediocre fans like you guys rather draft a QB not name CJ or Bryce and hope to be successful when you have an MVP hanging from the tree ......oh wait I remember yall thought Matt Ryan would work ????????????????????

First of all, the Colts can sign and trade option. The Colts are going on 6 years of below mediocrity. Draft a QB at 4 is a toss up. If we miss, then you draft a QB again next year. Potentially setting up 2-4 years of building again. Add that to the last 5-6 years and you have a DECADE under your belts Colts Fans. Lamar gives you the chance to Win the next 5-8 years. The choice is easy, but hey I’m just a fan.

Lamar Jackson is a terrible QB nobody is ever winning a super bowl with him behind the line. If you look at the Ravens as a team they have gotten progressively worse each year with him. Don't be fooled by his ability to run, he stinks as a passer which is far more important. Contrary to popular belief, the Ravens DON'T want him, which is why they've handled the situation the way they have. They're hoping some one is dumb enough to take him off of their hands and score numerous 1st round picks in the process

The Ravens want him, just not on his terms. And no NFL teams want him at his terms. Glad to see most Colts fans don't want him. I agree with Mr. Walsh. I can't say I favor picking Richardson, considering how few games he's played and how unrefined he is. How long will it take him to read an NFL defense?

  • Rando Mithlo - 1 year ago

I want to say yes to a trade but I have to wonder why Baltimore doesn't want him anymore. I doubt it's because of injury risk when he brings so much to the table. something's up.

If we have a chance to grab Richardson… do it. He is younger, cheaper, and can do the same things as Lamar Jackson.

  • Michael Walsh - 1 year ago

He doesn't deserve a fully guaranteed contract when the other star quarterbacks don't have one. Also, he gets hurt too much.
