I grew up with the traditional turkey, ham homemade stuffing, homemade gravy, Mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, sweet yams ( baked in the oven with marshmallows on top) fruit salad, and so much more. We are out meal on Christmas Eve, leaving Christmas day for us kids to open gifts, play snack all day ( from left over of Christmas Eve dinner) there was no cooking on this day, just relaxing and enjoying family!

In our house we have a big meal on both days. My boyfriend is Puerto Rican, so I prepare a traditional Noche Buena feast with Pernil, Arroz con Gandules, pasteles (from his mom), etc on Christmas Eve. On Christmas Day, we have a more traditional American (ok, British) holiday dinner with goose, lamb, or beef. I try to spread out the cooking and prep for both meals over several days to minimize the time spent in the kitchen on the actual holidays. We always end up with tons of leftovers, but that is the best part!
