This was a fail. They spent 2 seasons about stopping suicide then in the final moments of the show one of them COMMITS SUICIDE and all his fiends HELPED!! Are you kidding me??? I understand it was for different reasons and situation, but you cannot flip flop the writing like this when it was such a big part of the show. my 2c.

I've loved every moment of this series. The ending was extremely emotional. I feel it was heartbreaking and very real. I loved his character the most. He always was there for everyone at every turn. Great series. Thank you.

A million little things touched the hearts of so many. Most true to life experiences humans will see. They all deserve a Emmy.Cancer touches so many lives and this showed us how dignity has a way of everyone making difficult choices.Great flash forward hoping for a spinoff.

I have never cried like I did, watching the last 2 Shows. Unbelievable!!! I talked about this with everyone I know....we will ALL miss this Show...it can't end. So much more to tell, to watch, to learn, and grow.
And I truly believe the Writers picked the BEST person, and situation, for the finally. OMG, it was brilliant. All the Actors are great, but Gary had a Special part in everyone's life, and I think that's what made it so hard to say goodbye. But you guys did it, and it was amazing. Thank you for a wonderful Show.

Cried through the last two episodes. Thank you writers for giving us a finale that summed up the love between all these people. I was lost after ‘Parenthood’ ended but this show took right over and became my favorite quickly. Loved loved loved it!

Excellent finale! I agree with comments! I am hoping for an Emmy nomination for this episode, Gary and the writers.

I cried all the way through this episode.

Would have liked 30 minutes of Gary and 30 minutes of joy events. Would never have known Greta and Katherine had a daughter, or that Danny got married, would have liked 30 minutes of the joyful 15 year life changing moments. But still excellent!!! Just wanted more of the lives going forward 15 years.

I loved this show…never missed an episode. I felt like this friend group was very relatable. I wish I had friends like this…people whom you can count on in your darkest hours.

Gary’s death was so sad. Too bad they couldn’t have taken out a less important character. He became the glue that held the group together after John died.

A beautiful but sad ending to this tv series. Friends are forever-for sure! We felt their pain and their gain. Bring series back w a father for Gary's son, husband for Maggie, 'New' friend recruit to this awesome group.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My favorite show. Loved it from day one. Will miss all the actors, especially Gary. I thought this show was so true to life. Dying with dignity proved that I cried because of all the loved ones I lost, but look at dying and grief in a different light now.. Thank you for a beautiful series, sorry to see it go off the air.

I think the writing and execution for this series finale was everything. Gary was my favorite character from the very beginning of it and seeing him go really hurt. (Crying as I write this) I saw myself in the inappropriate jokes and honestly that’s the reason I came back every episode. His energy and demeanor was IT!!
I was contemplating not watching the entire season when they teased Gary’s death in Ep501 because there was absolutely no point, but I’m glad we got to say goodbye. And I am glad everyone found closure/ had a little more time to cherish with him.
I think Gary was the heart of the show, and his death prompting the end aligns in the sense that there’s not much to live for after a heart stops beating.

I cried last night, I cried reading this recap & comments. This was a wonderful show from the beginning. We all knew Gary was going to die. They handled it beautifully. Going out on his own terms. Saving Maggie some pain. I’m so glad they did the time job to see people happy again. I will definitely miss this show. Good job DJ, Nash and Company. Can’t wait for your next show.

The best finale of the 40 plus i ve seen over my long life, and I will keep it foever on my DVR...Gary must have studied stage IV cancer patients for months for that gut wrenching portrayal which was SO CONVINCING!!! The whole cast and the episode deserves an Emmy, and the writers and make up artists as well! Even Colin had tears in his eyes! And whoever thought of myFAVORITE song. For Good to be playing was a genius!!! Absolutely the PERFECT song choice!! I was really hoping for a " jump ahead " and the writers and new cast members gave me such a wonderful one. So i could smile yhru my tears!!!! Teenage Theo and Javi, pregnant Sophie and Tyrell, Danny happily married, Greta and Katherine with a daughter!! BRAVO AMLT !!

What a show! Watched it from the beginning and so sad it’s over!
Was the highlight of my week!
Nothing on TV interested me more!

A+ to the writers. I laughed and cried at the same time. So sad the show ended though. Loved watching from the first episode to the last. Great cast. Well done

Not impressed. Show starts with a suicide and ends with an assisted suicide. It could be viewed as giving an ok to suicide in general. I understand the reasoning behind it, but Gary simply could have died and the rest of the story been in tact with just as emotional an ending.

    Great show
Beautiful finale. Made real because not everyone survibes Stage 4 cancer.

  • Pearl Hart - 11 months ago

Loved every minute the show started with a death and ended with a death but, oh, the in between, will miss this show very much, a great run! Hoping all the actors will get work loved them all!

Tragically beautiful. My eyes are still leaking. Bravo AMLT, and give JRR an Emmy already. He made us love Gary.

  • rina - 11 months ago

it didn't break me. i was a little scared i would be an emotional mess but they did't leave us that way. They gentle break us a bit then give us the glue to carry on. it ends in Family going on. Love at the core and an example of a full life. Thank You.

  • Kellie Blair - 11 months ago

It was truly heart breaking and real. So wonderfully done.

  • LilWil - 11 months ago

Loved the finale! Since there wasn't going to be a miracle cure for Gary. Plenty of heartfelt moments, Gary scenes w/ nearly every friend (Katherine?) & omg COLIN! I def believe our beloved pets KNOW when 1 of their ppl is on their way out.
Great job, DJ & writers. Thank u for 5 years!
