John Rzeznik- His writing abilities are incredible. His song Iris is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard, lyrically and melodically. The Goo Goo Dolls have written incredible music over the years, and Rzeznik has written a number of their hits; Iris, Name, Slide, Black Balloon etc. Even their songs which aren’t as well know continue to have beautifully written, meaningful lyrics and stories behind them. John Rzeznik deserves the award in my eyes!
