Having watched the troubling Bait & Switch approach that Cerner has taken to delivering on their promises and the spiraling costs associated with their Projects, I believe there is no way they will achieve their goals. I take no pleasure in this assessment but I have been watching this travesty for a long, long time.

But it will take a long time and cost not the originally promised $10 billion, but over $140 billion. If we were to include the "free labor of the 10,000s of clinicians who work for the VA (and who must forego treating patients) the cost would be far higher. Probably double the $140 billion
