This was an absolutely ridiculous and completely unbelievable finale to a thoroughly mediocre show. After barely registering as a background character throughout the series, we are supposed to believe that Arthur left his dying wife's side to murder Alex? We are supposed to believe that the police fixation with Dan was so intense that it led to an inept investigation worthy of the Keystone Cops? We are supposed to believe that Arthur tries to come forward, is dismissed by one cynical attorney, and then just gives up and lets Dan spend 15 friggin' years in prison? As for the Ellen twist, what a sad, cruel, and totally unnecessary thing to do to this character. The ONLY reason to watch this show at all is to watch Toby Huss as Mike Gerard. He is the only remotely likable - and intelligent - character.

I think the show is fantastic and right on w the mental health aspect and the borderline personality disorder Alex developed stemming from her relationship w her dad and and the toxic dynamics, she experienced as a child and the overall impact both her parents and their parenting and dynamics had on her.
I was surprised by the twist ending with Ellen and the professor and I was wondering before the ending, how she was appearing as mentally healthy as she had throughout the first season and she appeared very open and.transparent in verbalizing her feelings I'm regards to the situation w reconnexting w her dad after his time in prison, however; the show hadn't shown anything that would've led me to believe the situation and abruptl attachment break with her dad at such a young age, also appearing to be the root in what appears to be a borderline personality disorder herself.
