I am an old lady that does not like anything dark and sinister so when my teenage granddaughters encouraged me to read Stephanie Myers book Twilight I ignored them. Then I heard from Taylor Ann, my twelve year old granddaugther, who said she was reading Twilight, and I had to read it to see if it was appropreate. Needless to say, I have now read all four of her books and loved them. As much as I have enjoyed Stephanie's books I do not feel that she has promoted the church in the eyes of the world, but Mitt Romney has brought attention to the church in ways that no one else has - So my vote goes to Mitt Romney as the one person that has brought the Mormon church into the focus of the world and especially the nation. Courtney and Stephanie might be exceptional great mormons, but they have not brought the church to the attention of the world and nation as Mitt has done.

You say you can't understand how Courtney and Stephanie could have such a lead--must be a large fan base. Go...read their blogs. Read their archives. Understand that many of that fan base found these blogs through their tragedy and have stayed because of who they are. Who would think that a couple of young housewives who are just living their lives could inspire such enthusiasm, such loyalty, such generosity, such a desire to be a better person and, to the point at hand, such interest in LDS? Winning a poll is not on their agenda. Raising their children, loving and caring for their husbands and families, helping and inspiring others is their goal. From what I've seen of them they are accomplishing that on a daily basis. It is indeed their fans who believe they should be recognized for their beautiful lives and beliefs. They inspire us.
