Never hire another Falcon's coach whose last name is Smith or first name is Dan. The Falcons have historically been terrible at drafting quarterbacks, going many decades past to when they drafted Pat Sullivan and never played him, because he wasn't up to it. Maybe the only hope at selecting a quarterback is through artificial intelligence, because there is no natural intelligence in the Falcon's organization.
It would be good if all falcons fans could get on the same page and do something that’s never been done to show how tired we are of the same old crap. Start an empty stadium movement. No one go to a game, buy merchandise, etc until significant improvement is made in the organization. Would be appropriate given the horrible state of the franchise and would undoubtedly bring about quick change.
I don’t think Arthur Smith is competent enough to coach my children’s little league team. The whole season has been a lesson in underachievement, turnovers, horrible play calling, and all around incompetence. I’m not gonna live forever and three more seasons have been wasted with smith as coach. On a related note, I’m not convinced our GM is the right guy either. Falcons have cap space but other than Bates, Ellis, and Landman, I haven’t seen much improvement in the roster.
I believe Arthur Smith should be fired for the simple fact that he is over play calling if you know your quarterback is struggling on passing when you get into the red zone why keep throwing the ball but you never stopped the play and each time they pass in the Red zone it's an interception. That falls upon the head coach

They should definitely fire the coach. Then you need to fire Ridder. We get a great tight end that we barely ever use. Maybe it's time for Arthur blank to leave too I think he's too old to own a team when he won't fire anybody. We kept Matt Ryan for two extra years longer than we should have, lost out on a good quarterback. We got a great defense that'll even keeps getting better. We got good receivers good running backs the problems the quarterback and coach. Even a blind person could see that. It just sucks being a falcons fan for all these years and want them to do good but we can't get it done it's depressing.
I have been a diehard Falcon fan for a very long time living just across the state line in Alabama. I proudly have a arm tattoo of the Atlanta Falcons that’s almost 30 years old. I don’t know why they won’t get a decent QB1 with all the recent excellent ones coming out of the SEC and maybe they could benefit from a drastic change in leadership across the board with bringing a championship to Atlanta the #1 goal!

This is not real pro football. It is apparent that the coaches and players are not of even average knowledge. This franchise is 116 games under 500 lifetime. Do you realize how hard that is to do.
Bill bellechick is giving it up with the patriots after this season we need to get rid of Arthur Smith and now and sign a contract with Bill. How fittingg would it be to have him coach the falcons to a superbowl victory with his quarterback he has in New England in tow . As a Falcons Fan (still learning the sport), Arthur Smith sucks as a coach. For a ‘coach’, he don’t seem to show support/enthusiasm for the team, can’t express himself on radio/TV, & seems discriminatory to most players other than Ridder. ‘Get Rid of Ridder’! ….. 90% of time, even I see clearly who he passing ball to, he’s seems afraid to get sacked (great) but doesn’t run, isn’t aware of his surroundings therefore gives the ball away/not much of an aim & doesn’t seem to recall the play. His talk about having offense do more… well - just that Words & No Action. Thank you Defense! PLEASE practice Heineke for next games!
Arthur Blank will continue to lose the respect and ticket sale support of the fans as he continues to procrastinate on the fate of Arthur Smith. I think he is the worst HC the Falcons have had in a long time. No QB will ever be successful with Arthur Smith calling the plays! The Falcons have had three QB’s fail under his leadership and play calling! Sadly, this is obvious to everyone but Arthur Blank. Maybe we need new ownership as well; someone that is committed to building a winning team! Arthur Smith has had three years of sub par performance with no year over year improvement.
Athens is hardly an hour’s drive from Atlanta, and yet the passion for football is night and day. If Falcons fans demanded the same of their team as Bulldog fans do, this wouldn’t even be a poll question. (Nor would this stand in NFL cities where fans demand value for their time, money and energy). What a joke this has become in Atlanta. And it all falls on ownership at this point, as he is the only person defending this inevitable failure that has been the exhausting Arthur Smith experiment.
We need to draft a quarterback
Lets be very honest. We are well on our way to 6-11 or 7-10 for the third year in a row. We now have 6 seasons in a row of losing football. We haven't hosted a playoff game in the Benz since its inception. Smith and Fontenot completely whiffed on the 2021 draft with either significant busts or obtaining weapons that he doesn't know how to use. He has had three seasons to get an answer at QB and has elected that to be Ridder, who is obviously a back up at best. We are in the worst division, had the easiest schedule, has almost $100 million in cap space this year to build the team to specification, and we still can't do better than previous years? Hell, we are actually poised to be worse as I don't think we can win any of our remaining games given the performance through 15 weeks. Bijan didn't sniff the red zone until week 10. Pitts can't beg for targets and has been reduced to a blocker, which he sucks at. London is solid...when we actually use him, but is he better than Olave or Wilson who went after him? I don't really think so at this point. You got rid of Ryan the instant you could, ate the cap hell from last year, and this is the product put on the field? Year 3 of a 3 year plan looks worse than the previous two for this "offensive-minded" coach. Should have not been allowed on the bus back from Carolina. Ridder should have had 7 games to evaluate last year following the TNF Carolina game where we could see in a solid sample size what he was for the future. You chose instead to ride it out with Mariota who couldn't complete a pass more than 15 yards deep and embarrassed us on prime time last year. This team should be 8-9 wins right now, and instead we are staring at another dismal season. SPOILER ALERT!!!! If the season ended today, then next year we play the AFC West (all of them would beat us), the NFC East (all of them would beat us), 6 NFC South games (obviously we are likely splitting), the Bengals, the Seahawks, and the Packers. How many games are we winning with Arthur Smith and this schedule in 2024? This was the year to do something and you blew it. Get out of my state. Get out of my stadium. Arthur Smith should definitely go. Been a season ticket holder for 13 years (my late parents were season ticket holders) and been with this team since the NFL gave Atlanta the franchise. I am tired of "rebuilding." I have also been a Ridder advocate but enough is enough! Why not allow the GM to hire his own pick for a coach? The Falcons, as usual, did everything backwards! They hired a coach THEN a GM. Additionally, why did the organization NOT draft any UGA players - 90 miles away and full of national champions? You also wasted a draft pick on a running back (who fumbles) when we already had a back with a 1,000 yards (Allgiers)? I have already transferred my tickets to my children for the season. I'm DONE!

Why he kept calling run plays to the left side all game long blows my mind. Furman was blowing Matthew’s up and stuffing the run to the left. But Smith kept calling them wasting downs. Smith obviously likes smash mouth football and is not interested in being unpredictable and involving the receivers more often

He played Marcus Mariota last year when he was done, choose Ridder this year. Agree with earlier comment that the coach is the son of a billionaire. Suggests a look of nepotism among the CEO realm of our economy, etc. As OC for Titans it wasn't very hard to just hand the ball off to Derek Henry on three downs at 3-4 yards a clip. Every since the Super Bowl calapse team gets worse. Hire a new coach, new GM, and new QB. Aside from all QB draftees, there are good dual threat QBs already in NFL too. Wake up Mr Blank and stop settling for mediocrity.
Arthur Blank needs to step up and be a leader. This team has too much talent to lose games by a field goal. That should tell Mr. Blank that the HC is not the right person for the job! Arthur Smith is losing games, he will soon lose his locker room if he hasn’t loss it already. He needs to be fired ASAP. Mr Blank may not be able to salvage this season but he can show the fans that he is a leader that is committed to win!!

This will be the end of my home attendance until next season. This lost to the Carolina Panthers was a disgrace to the entire Falcons’ organization and the NFL as a whole.

Take a page out of the Charger's playbook. Fire Smith and Fontenot. Both have brought in terrible pieces to the organization. Watching from sideline level, there is zero focus and intensity on that sideline. Substitution patterns on offense are ridiculous and the game plan does not require top tier athletes to perform. 3 targets for London and nothing until the 4th quarter. Not using Patterson properly. Poor 2nd short play calling. It's not going to improve, time to move on and find out who the real dogs are going into the off-season.

Smith should go because he believes Ridder is the answer to quarterback and the only thing he does well is lose the game at the end. The results in the first 3.5 quarters are not much better. Play calling is some of the worst I've seen and i religiously watched the Falcons since they started in the 60's and now I don't care if I can see the game or not!
Ridder isn't the worst QB in NFL history. Heck, he's not even the worst QB in Falcon history. It's just that he isn't the right QB for the Atlanta Falcons. There are several QB's in this year's draft that could make the Falcons a legit team: Williams, Maye, Nix, Penix, Daniels, Beck, McCarthy, Sanders, Riley & Leonard.
