unfortunately the universal finger-wagging, can't we all just get along philosophy of Day the Earth Stood Still hasn't aged well, if it was ever even apt to begin with. The phrasing of Gort as one of a race of infallible, unstoppable, merciless robot cops just hits different in 2024 and the message that violence is never the answer is great but can you tell it to the people who actually need to hear it?

Body Snatchers if only for the line, “I never knew fear until I kissed Becky.” Oh, and there’s the fact that one could easily substitute the MAGA crowd for the pod people thing, but I promised myself I wouldn’t get political.
If we were basing this on the remakes, Body Snatchers wins a couple times over.
