Could be the theatre professional in me, but I think Dial M works better on the stage than on screen and there’s another movie where Ray Milland menaces Grace Kelly kicking around in this tournament. Plenty more time to really dig into Tokyo Story, which I caught up with at the very last minute and now I hope manages a deep run in this tournament.

I wish Tokyo Story wasn't the token Ozu movie. It's one of the few that don't move me. Unfairly, I saw Make Way for Tomorrow first, and Make Way for Tomorrow is the better Make Way for Tomorrow. Maybe that is fair, it was the first it. Then Late Spring and many others are better Ozu films.

Then there's Dial 'M', an also ran only in 2 dimensions. In three, as it was made, it's almost remarkable, for both Hitch and 3D, definitely original.

Tokyo Story is too beautiful of a movie to loose to an average Hitchcock movie. The dept of Setsuko Hara's performance should be enough for everybody to vote for Tokyo Story.
