If it was the '78 Body Snatchers, The 400 Blows would lose.
But it's not.
Situations like this help clarify that the '78 is indeed the superior of those two great pictures.

I've never been a big fan of 400 Blows, but love going back to Snatchers. I don't know if it's the "better" film, but if you offer up the two films as options to watch tonight, I'll pick Snatchers, every time. So, I'm going with that.

The two remakes of body Snatchers are better than this one. 400 blows it is.

Is it weird that I prefer the downer ending where all of humanity is probably doomed to the downer ending where the fate of one mistreated kid looms in uncertainty?

I know you're supposed to watch a film like The 400 Blows and revel in it's ingenuity and craft for the time. Or maybe wax poetic about how it tells a "real" story in a time when those were few and far between. But I'm still human, and have to say that the 400 Blows reminds me of what non film people think we sit around and watch. Boring, slow, and I was honestly bored by it. So give me the sci fi wackiness and let's move along.

Prefer this Snatchers to the ‘78 one, but I don’t see it advancing. Kinda blows, but I’ll deal with it.
