This will turn on how many have seen each picture. Both are great, possibly both are masterpieces, but LIve (Ikiru) definitely is.

this WW1 soldiers keep fighting the most gentle and moving Japanish films - and I'm afraid my heart is about to be broken again - Ikiru is my favorite Kurosawa and every time I see it I cry (and laugh) at different moments. so it's get my vote.
Although the ending of Paths of Glory is something anyone should see, at any generation, more then once, as long as war is still the reality. so...what have I done. MADNESS is not a big enough word for this...Horror

Ikiru just is a great contemplation of life I could never pick against it!
Path of Glory is insanely good, with maybe the best final minute in cinema. I really really like Ikiru, but it does not approach Kubrick's marvel.
