And while we're here, can we put a big header at the top of the voting page that's asks people not to vote if they haven't seen both movies? There's no chance that Panther Panchali would lose to Angry Men if everyone had seen both films. I refuse to believe it.

I know paths of glory is a better film... And I definitely would have voted against Angry Men in the last round, but I'm a theater guy. Dialogue is what brings me in like nothing else. And I even admit that 12 angry men has lost its luster in the intervening years, but a diamond is still a diamond no matter its environment.

This one was easy for me, but I'm afraid of people's irrational love for 12 Angry Men. Paths of Glory is true cinema with one of the greatest endings of all time. 12 Angry Men was maybe prescient 70 years ago, but has lost its luster.

12 Angry Men is a worthy social problem film that is competently made, but Paths of Glory demands your attention and your conscience with an urgency that 12 Angry Men doesn't muster, at least not for me. Paths of Glory is a brilliant achievement of aesthetic ethics and 12 Angry Men lacks that aesthetic achievement, despite it's wonderful ethical work, so it's an easy choice for me: Paths of Glory without a doubt.
This may be the most balanced, therefore difficult, entry yet. They're both great pictures, well shot, well acted, well written and filled with important discussions, with banger endings.
