Rewatched Sunset Blvd and the central plot is great but any scene with Betty drags and it astounds me that Nancy Olson was nominated for such a plain monotonous performance.

I'm glad that this tournament offered me a chance to catch up with Some Like it Hot, a glaring Billy Wilder blindspot for me. It is a huge amount of fun, Wilder directed such a wide range of films and somehow was good at all of them. I prefer his noirs to his zany romps though, so in this match up, I'll take the less problematic of the remaining Hitchcock films, Rear Window gets the nod for me.
Agreed with Robb. Some Like It Hot is the The Birdcage of the '50s: I get why some people like it, but only the high numbers of such responses keep me from being simply mystified at why anyone loves it. Sure, we get funny voices, men dressed as women and some hilarious misogyny, but Bugs Bunny did all of that (well, not the misogyny), and it only took him seven minutes.
But hey, people also loved The Hangover and Porkys.
I'll take Rear Window's camera over Wilder's rear-obsessed camera.

Margo Channing, I WILL AVENGE THEE!!! I do think it's kind of funny though that Miss Casswell as Sugar Kane Kowalczyk got the drop on Queen Margo. Well Billy Wilder, fasten your seat belts. It's going to be bumpy Madness. I can't imagine SOME LIKE IT HOT beating out REAR WINDOW for the Final Four but then again, this is Filmspotting Madness. I'm also voting for Rear Window because I would prefer that over the, yeah I'll go there, slightly overrated Vertigo for a chance to be the final Hitchcock in the tournament. I just believe that Rear Window is a better and far more entertaining Hitchcock film.

I’m a huge Wilder fan. But this is his movie I just don’t really connect with. Put it in the “comedy is kind of subjective “ category. Now that I think about it, I probably get more laughs out of Rear Window. Along thrills and awe. Rear Window is top 4 all time for me. So easy choice
